The unhelpful secretary is accurate. She has a nasty attitude. It seems she would rather have an interaction that is conflicting rather than productive and leads toward finding a solution. The communication could be better. They usually only contact you if there is bad news. There are many great teachers there. There are also unhelpful teachers there who dislike children. There are teachers that ignore the bullying behavior of the well connected children. If you say something about it, you're a rat. I had a teacher look me in the eye and tell me the bullying that my son had expressed to me was wrong. Nope. Not happening. If you are not open to hearing about it. It is clearly a problem that is not being addressed.

Terrible secretary very rude and unhelpful compared to other sps schools we have been in contact with. Will definitely skip out on this school after an awful first impression.

Overall, my experience with this this elementary school has been positive. I appreciate the open communication and educational tasks/assignments my child is given to complete at home. I am also appreciative of teachers organizing learning materials for students over the summer. This shows the investment the school has in students excelling and continually building on the material they learned throughout the school year.

We transferred our son to Hickory Hills, 1st Grade, from a private school in town and he is performing much better this year. Unfortunately a large percentage of the curriculum is review for him, but I would expect that coming from a private to a public education. I am impressed with the teacher and her ability to work with the children at the level they are at with regard to reading. I have never heard anyone, of the many parents I've spoken to, say a bad word about the school. I would recommend this school.
