I spent my elementary years at Sunrise and they were some of my favorite years. I made really great friends there and I was pretty quiet at the time. The teachers were wonderful and I can’t explain how much they cared for their students and encouraged them with the thrill of learning. Recess can be hard for those with little to no friends but teachers do notice and usually ask someone in the class to hang out with them and welcome them into a new environment or just to be a friend. My siblings and I all went through this school, some for a little less time than others but overall, Sunrise was such a great experience for me and I definitely recommend. :)

I have had kids go through Sunrise Elementary for the past 15 years, when our oldest entered Kindergarten. Sunrise has a low teacher/staff turn over and many of our teachers have been teaching there for as long as we have been there. This is a testament to the wealth of knowledge and experience the staff at Sunrise holds and our students get the benefit of this. Our Principal and Vice Principal are excellent. I really appreciate their effort in keeping parents informed with weekly emails and reminders. Sunrise recently went through a complete building remodel with many key features updated. We have an active PTO and involved parent community. Our students and teachers are well supported, wether it is extra educational materials that are donated by the PTO or students and teachers that are supported by parent volunteers. Sunrise does have special education supports and services, but does not qualify as a title 1 school. Our schools Library is amazing! Our PE teacher is super fun. Our school not only places importance on academic achievement, but also in the arts with music and art classes. Student engagement is high, I think this is due in part because the learning is engaging and fun, but also because of the involvement and stability of students home environments. Central Valley School District as a whole places a high importance on student and school safety as well as student character development.

We were happy to go to Sunrise in 2019. Last year my child always came back home with lots of homework every single day. Teacher also sent note that he couldn’t finish part of his work at school and he has to done it tonight and bring it on next morning. He hadn’t time for anything else in the evenings and looked tired. Right now due their virtual learning our 4 grade teacher is unable to communicate at all ,never call back or answer on my emails. In my opinion Sunrise is good school for students who are in good standards. But they absolutely useless with kids who need extra support. Instead of extra help they will just suggest to switch school because your child is different. They have zero responsibility for their inability to teach.

We were happy with this school for our kids. Teachers are good and seem to care about the students, principle seems to have a handle on things at the school. Building is a bit dated and needs updating, but a building won't teach your kids.
