RB has been wonderful for my son and our family. Academics have been great, and my son has had wonderful qualified teachers with training in reading learning differences who were able to spot his issues and assist him with extra help and accommodations even before he had an IEP. The best part is how the children develop good character: respect for peers and adults, accountability and responsibility, confidence, and leadership skills. When my son had an issue being teased on the bus and conflict with another student in his class, both times the issues were dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction.

I had to pull 3 kids out bc I became a single mother and they were warning me if the potential punishments my children would face IF I or my ex husband were to be late on payment. This was against a backdrop of never being late on payment. Not one dollar. Ever. The punishments they cited were my hinder would be forbid to play extracurricular sports or clubs, lunch accounts frozen and grades hidden. They also verbatim told me my children coming from a “broken” home was punishment in and of itself. I was screamed at and hung up on by the finance dept three times (Robin) and her boss also the Head of Institutional Advancement Craig Austen was worse.

We have been very happy with our experience at RB. RB has excellent academics - we have been very pleased with the quality of education and learning outcomes for our children. There is also good classroom discipline, as well as opportunities for out of school enrichment (sports, clubs, etc.) I wish there were more services and supports for children with learning differences, and more economic diversity among families.

Rev Brown School will never be the same since the current principal was hired. She was hired due to nepotism (yes, her brother runs Pope John now). The assistant principal was hired in the same way, coming down from the high school guidance department. It is no longer a Catholic school- as these two "leaders" lack the integrity- in both their professional and personal lives- to truly be dedicated to Catholic education. There are some amazing original teachers still left, but they will not be there too much longer. It was once a phenomenal school. Sadly, it isn't any longer. The same can be said about the middle school administration... the high school is fine for now.

Being a catholic school should mean instilling catholic values. My experience with this school is that they place greater value on conservative ideals than anything else. They lack diversity and inclusion. The structure of the school is focused on primarily the students who perform well which meant my daughter was given attention while my niece who isn't the best student was basically left to her own.

Overall experience with my youngest was not good. My oldest child had no issues because she came in as a strong student who had a great start from another school. But their teaching methods for the younger kids are very lackluster. Compared to their expectations of what they would like them to know. Their unable to offer younger students the preparedness necessary to be successful through their curriculum due to a lack of quality teachers. The environment was overall intense to the point where my kid hated going to school. Kids have to love their school environment, that encourages their yearn to learn. They need to come up with more creative effective ways to make learning at this school fun . Rather than creating an overly strict environment where kids are militant and the curriculum is absorbent for their age. While not offering the proper avenues to make sure kids are successful with their curriculum in the first place.

Terrible. This school offers an academically challenging curriculum .The administration is wonderful. But be prepared for the majority of parents and students with an immense dose of overly entitled attitudes. People are obcessed with out doing one another. Lots of fancy cars, Moms who show up at back to school nights with way too tight workout clothes on, flaunting their diamond rings and Rolex watches. The environment is super cliquey, superficial and ridiculously competitive beginning in Kindergarten. Very few people are there for a Catholic education. Unless you prefer that kind of environment for your child, consider another Catholic school in the area, that has an equally competitive curriculum and none of the unnecessary distractions.

I took both my children out of Byram Schools because of the lack of an effective education they were receiving there. Byram would always brag about the newest testing they were doing for the state, but failed to really focus on anything but that. I don't care what my kids get on state tests if they are taught the answers all year and are left out the actual things they are supposed to be learning. RB made my kids want to go to school again and offer more discipline and an overall better education than the old school. I strongly recommend Reverend Brown Elementary and Pope John Middle School.

I love this school and wouldn't have my children anywhere else. The curriculum is top notch, they have a reputable music program, they teach good values, Christian values, and the students are respectful overall.

Reverend Brown School is an exceptional Catholic school in all aspects! It promotes a respectful, caring and academically challenging learning environment for its students. The teachers consistently go "above and beyond" for their students. They continually seek to know their craft and to work cohesively to accomplish what's best for students. The administration leads with a clear purpose, good judgement and compassion. A wonderful place for children to grow and learn!!

Rev. Brown School is very challenging and structured, an ideal environment for our daughter to thrive in! We switched from Hilltop 5 years ago, welcoming the firmer discipline for those that need it and unexpected positive reinforcement for kids that really want to learn. I also appreciate the staff's interest in helping every child succeed. RBS's standards seem to increase every year, especially since being awarded the U.S. Dept. of Education's Blue Ribbon, but the leadership is open to ongoing feedback and takes action to improve our children's learning experience. So, if you want your child(ren) to reach their full potential, this is an ideal, safe place for them to learn to spread their wings and fly!

Enrolling our son in Reverend Brown was hands-down the best decision we ever made. As the parents of an RB student for the last 5 years, we have seen many changes and enhancements within the school. Throughout our experiences we have always felt respected and valued as members of our Christian community. As far as teachers go, you will not find a set of individuals who are more talented, engaging, and passionate about their areas of expertise than at this school. The faculty and administration are true professionals who work together to make our school shine. Our teachers are not just there to follow a textbook, give a lecture, and assign homework. Rather, they are facilitators who are eager to push their students to their fullest potential, while instilling a passion for learning in every student in a faith centered environment. And, current technology is incorporated into every subject, giving students the competitive edge needed for the future. It has been a wonderful experience seeing our son thrive throughout his time at Reverend Brown.

My son spent 8 years at Rev. Brown and it was a great experience for him. The academics were strong, the discipline kept all students focused on their lessons, and religion was incorporated into many aspects of student life through religious studies, sacraments and on-going community service. I was happy with every teacher he had throughout the years. My son is completely ready for his high school years. I highly recommend this school.

Rev. Brown is a school with high academic standards and a strong Catholic community. We switched from Hilltop when our oldest of 4 entered kindergarten. We wanted a larger school with a "small community" feel. RBS meets our family needs. This year, three of our four children will attend Rev. Brown. Our fourth child will follow in their foot steps when she is old enough. From the preschool to middle grades, I strongly recommend RBS!!

I have two children in Reverend Brown. My children transferred from a smaller Catholic School to RBS, as we felt that our children needed more. When I say more, I mean in terms of academics, technology, socially, clubs and activities. faith building, and discipline. The teachers at RBS challenge their students to pursue academic excellence. From what I have seen, the faculty nurtures the development of the whole child promtingself-confidence, academic achievement, and a love of learning.

We moved to Sparta about two years ago. We had our children enrolled in a very competitive public school in Bergen County. We were not sure if Rev. Brown was going to meet the expectations we had for a "highly competitive great school". I am pleased to say Rev. Brown far exceeded our expectations. This school not only challenges our children, but has helped them to take responsibility for themselves as students. The administration and faculty at RBS go above and beyond to ensure that your child is getting the best education based upon each child's needs. I have three very different learners and was really appreciative of the way the school met each child's individual needs. I highly recommend Rev. Brown. I am beyond pleased and Blessed to know my children are going to school and not only learning the subject material, but building upon their character and community.
