Parent envolvement is a privilege. Friendliness is rare. Emotional support and follow-up for situations is deficient. Not great diversity, no cultural sensitivity and knowledge.

My husband and I unfortunately removed our son from the school. We were promised an IEP with no follow through. The school is run by the PTA essentially not the staff or administration. There is zero social/ emotional support for children. There are no protocols or procedures in place for any child that doesn’t fall under the extreme special needs category but still needs extra help so adhd, autism, bpd anything of that nature. Those children have no resources or aid, anytime my son was struggling he was put in a corner with some trains and then ignored and it still breaks my heart to think about it. That goes for the entire south Lyon school district, if you have a child that has any and I meat ANY special needs we recommend transferring to the Milford Huron valley schools.

My child will begin attending Sayre this fall, so my experience has been entirely based on our kindergarten orientation, where I met the K teachers and principal. I was thoroughly impressed with how well and how respectfully the principal could communicate with the children at their level.
