Our son was in a pre-K class at Dolsen. There was a special-ed child in his class that kept hurting him. The incidents kept happening starting in September until finally we removed him in January. We are crushed, as we moved to our current residence specifically for the school system. It was unsafe to leave him in class there though, and the school system kept spouting that the had to keep the dangerous child in the class due to legal requirements.

Not happy with the school and teacher.My son studying kindergarten here. Because of the online classes it's little bit hard for him to focus on. I requested teacher to give attention with other active students i requested couple of times. I see he always gets ignored in the class because of the he is not super active or doen't give response all times. But he does good job if i teach him after hours . Hope he will not go to same school next year.

I had high hopes for south Lyon schools. My kids are smart and kind. Most of the teachers seem really great and passionate about their work. The principal seems like she cashed out years ago and is totally aloof to issues within the school. She only talks to the parents she likes and disregards everyone else.

Very good. Have had kids going to this school for 20 years and have had very few issues.

Teachers are great, building is old (no a/c in summer, super hot in winter), overcrowded. But the worst is the principal.

Over the summer our family moved to South Lyon and we are extremely pleased with Dolsen Elementary School. The principal. teachers, and office staff have been extremely helpful and welcomed us to the school community. Our children are being challenged and love going to school everyday. We are looking forward to our next few years at Dolsen! Go Dolphins!

When my daughter moved from Novi schools I was very nervous to send her to Dolsen Elementary, but when I met the teachers and staff I was very pleased with the help from them. They all made my child fit in with all the kids. My child loves her teacher and has good friends. We couldn't find a better school then this one. I would like to request the principal to make the cirriculum a little challenging for the students, also put in more choices in the lunch menu. Thank You

My daughters teacher is so great but the principal is a JOKE. Because of her some terrific teachers are leaving for other schools, and honestly my kids will not go back to Dolsen next year because of this principal. Come on South Lyon Superintendant get it together and see she is a PROBLEM!!! If it werent for the teachers I would have rated this school 0 STARS!!

Great school. I like the fact that it's small and my child is not just a number. We just moved from Novi Schools, for several reasons, and could not be happier.

All three of my children attended Dolsen Elementary School. The teachers, principal and all other staff members are awesome. They genuinely care about the individual needs of each student. The small school has a family atmosphere that assists children and families in a variety of positive ways! I am proud to say that Dolsen is one of the best elementary schools in the state of Michigan!

I couldn't be happier with Dolsen!!!! The smaller class size is a plus and the office staff is amazing. I have dealt with several school districts and this elementary school is amazing! Can't wait to send my last 2 (out of 4 children) here for their primary education:)

I think that this school is very poorly ran. There is not enough experience in the staff. I have one child enrolled and wish I could transfer. I will never send any of my other kids there again!

My two oldest children graduated from Dolsen Elementary and went on to Middle school. They loved the experience they had there and now my daughter is in 2nd grade and is loving the experience she is having at Dolsen Elementary.

I have never worked with a teaching staff who is more dedicated to reaching each and every student. The school works as a positive community where everyone is working together in the best interest for the students. I love working at Dolsen!

I love the smaller size of the school and the closeness it creates. The staff, especially the teachers are wonderful, the curriculum is great and I don't foresee myself ever moving out of the district until my children are done with school.

Ann L Dolsen Elementary School is a great school. Every staff member I have met are great people. When there is a problem or concern they are never hesitant to address it. I am always very comfortable with my children there and know they are getting a solid start in education and are in a very safe and capable environment.
