The community was good but some of the teachers were very bad. There was an AP Biology teacher that wanted to be a friend over getting us ready for the exams. But overall, not a horrible expirience.

Lower than it should be. 50% of graduates are not prepared for work or college. Was does the school board do during the pandemeic? Votes to spend $14,000,000 on a second football stadium 5 blocks from the existing stadium. Completley ineffective.

Sonoma High is the heartbeat to much of the community here in Sonoma. To have a public high school that has continued to offer numerous electives including woodshop, metal shop, photography, culinary, engineering, and agriculture helps students create a successful career path outside of the typical core classes taught at all high schools.

Sonoma Valley High School has been a great school for my now 16 year old. There are over 40 extra curricular activities available including sports, music, drama, forensics (speech and debate), cheerleading, dance, newspaper, etc. Like all schools, and all workplaces, there are amazing teachers and those who should probably have chosen a different career. But I maintain that the outstanding, amazing and motivating teachers are changing student lives for the better...the others, well, it's a good lesson in life to the students that not everyone in your world can be fantastic. With our superintendent, new principal, and absolutely amazing college counseling center, I give this school high marks, and am very happy that my child is able to learn and participate.

My youngest son is currently a Senior at SVHS. For 3 out of his 4 years he has had the honor and privilege of taking Video Production + Broadcasting classes with Peter Hansen. Mr. Hansen procures financial donations to help fund his Video Production + Broadcasting courses at SVHS. The yearly Sonoma International Film Festival is one of the regular donors. These classes and Mr. Hansen's support has enabled our son obtain employment filming events for the high school, local TV station and other schools in the valley. Our son has had some additional tremendous teachers, Mick O'Mera (who moved to Tamalpais HS in Mill Valley this year), David Donnelley and Robert Midgley. His counselor, Betzy Chavez, is always available and responds to every inquiry. Our family is very grateful to SVHS.
