Wonderful teachers, staff and parents that are always ready to lend a hand and make Prestwood school the best it can be for our children! We are incredibly lucky!

Prestwood is a fantastic public school where community and students feel happy, safe and challenged. The teaching faculty and principal are passionate, innovative and connected with their students and community and always trying to raise the bar through academic enrichment. With respect to prior dated reviews of drama and cliques this must be in the eyes of the beholder and perhaps reflective of difficult years before my direct experience the past 4. I have only had positive and welcoming attitudes from administration and parents among all demographics. Sonoma is a very diverse town but the gentle manner of inclusion present in this school is something that we can use as a model of success. Prestwood is a school rich in tradition, values and pride. Go Panthers.

I see recent reviews are needed here, so will add my voice as a 6th year Prestwood parent. I have never felt Prestwood to be clique-ish, in fact the opposite! The amount of dedicated parents willing to work together and for their kids and school is quite admirable, and one of the reasons I have been impressed with Prestwood from the start. I see Prestwood kids respect and support each other all the time. It is a warm, positive and nurturing school--from the office staff and teachers to the parents to the fabulous new principle, Jason Sutter. I see loads of happy kids here, getting a great education. Our kindergarten teacher instilled daily a love of learning; a few years later she was awarded district teacher of the year for her effort. Our 4th grade teacher grew great spellers--our daughter won the school Bee finished 4th in the regional that year. 5th grade she's especially learning all about the outdoors, history, math and science and physical fitness from her teacher. Prestwood has surpassed all my expectations for public school, and I am grateful.

I have volunteered In classrooms at Prestwood for the past 3 years. The two major concerns I have are the increased number of students per classroom and the general disrepair of the physical structures. I for one would be willing to pay higher taxes to invest more in schools but my fellow voters do not agree.

Drama and cliques are the norm here. There is quite a bit of snobbery and cliques among parents. The administration leaves something to be desired and the 'warm and fuzzies' are missing. The teachers here are overall great but the low rating is due to the overall feeling of the school.

If you don't mind cliques..and don't mind drama...then this is the school for you. Prestwood is not what it used to be...
