I mostly just have something to say about the safety at this school. There have been threats targeted at our school yet we still have to go as if there's not literally a 50/50 chance of there being a shooting. Yesterday morning (sept 29, 2024) , there was a bad chemical explosion at a chemical plant pretty close to this school, ruining the air to the point where our nostrils would start to burn and yet they're still making us go to school when other schools have closed. Some of us can probably stay home but the others, like myself, with stuck up parents who care more about school than their childs well being still have to go.

Shiloh is an excellent school. However, students who doesn't live in Snellville are attending the school. Some students are coming from a Dysfunctional home/ neighboring community . Shiloh was a high school everyone wants to attend throughout the years. However, with the new Principal that Shiloh was bless with 2024 to 2025 will put Shiloh back on the map. God will lead Mrs. Cappy Douglass. She has a strong vision for the school, along with the faculty.

Everything about this school is bad. Most kids come to class to sit around and not learn and teachers doesnt do anything nothing about it.

I went here and graduated. now I'm gonna rate it from 1 to 5. First of all,This school is big, I haven't gone to another high school so I don't know how big other high schools usually are compared to this but it feels like it should be relatively big. Anyways, the student body, it's diverse here since you mostly see African Americans and Hispanics/Latinos some white students but that's about it. The school is kind of in a middle ground when it comes to safety, there is a lot of fighting that occurs throughout the year but no other accidents occur outside of that. Now I'd like to say that there some delinquents in the school, not like people who are juvies but nonetheless they are delinquents, I sometimes entered the restrooms and saw kids smoking and vaping in there during lunch periods and sometimes I hear them talk about having weapons in their possession but don't pull it out I don't know if they're just bluffing or if they want to act tough but don't want to actually show their weapon since they might get in trouble. Also, in terms of racism/discrimination I actually have a lot of personal experiences but Ill just talk about one. I had a friend who was always talking to me during my sophomore year he would message me online for about a month before our friendship ended after he stopped coming to school for 2 weeks and then he just stopped talking to me at school for good eventually we ended up opposite sides of one class(coincidence right?) and were also sitting right next each other in two others but still not talking all year. Lastly the staff, now I'd like to say that at the beginning, first year of high-school, the staff aren't that bad(although that depends on your teacher) but after that every teacher just wants to acts like they care but most of them either give you lazy work or randomly assign tests that you wouldn't understand how to do, Ill cut the teachers some slack since they arent being paid well but Its unfair to students to treat their education like a joke.

Teachers and Principal don't care too much about students and their individual progress, but instead the school as a whole ( which they aren't doing great at) We took a loss on our home just to move out of the district so that we could get our kids out of the area. That turned out to be the best things ever. The culture at the school was very much geared towards instant gratification and "what does the world owe me" When I dropped off my daughter at one of the school dances, two administrators were standing outside in clear view of a couple that was partially undressed going at it in from of the school. If you can get out of this district RUN!

Full transparency here: Shiloh has the potential but it's not worth investing your child, thinking that a difference will be made in the Freshman to Senior year. Please consider the ratings, take a visit, and do your research prior to your child or one that may consider. In the past the parents took the streets and protested for change. I was under the impression that Shiloh High School was making a change for the better but was so hurt to see a decline across key areas. I pray and bid them much success but not at the expense of my beloved children as test-cases. BOTTOM LINE: There is NO ONE PERFECT SCHOOL, but a lot of schools in the greater Metro-Atlanta have much more to offer your future or transferring high school students.

As a parent I have an ongoing relationship with my daughters teachers. I have called them and emailed them and they have been very responsive. It is important that the communication is open and ongoing to keep your child's focus on the things that matter. My daughter is a Senior and she is thriving at Shiloh High.

My son is a rising sophomore and is taking AP classes. So far, our experience has been great. This school is great despite what people think. The kids are super smart and many go to college with scholarships but I think the school gets a bad rap from others in Snellville because it’s predominantly African American students. I’ve read so many comments from others saying that the area has “gone downhill”. Don’t believe the hype. Fights happen in all school districts. Kids act up everywhere. Some are broadcasted more than others and that’s what happens with Shiloh. Parents also need to stop relying on the teachers to raise their kids. You better believe I stay on my son 24/7 about his grades even though I don’t have to because I’ve taught him well. It’s also time for these parents to hold their kids accountable for their behavior. Overall, you can get a great education at Shiloh. The teachers that my son have had were awesome.

It was a good experience for me. I graduated from this school in 2014, then went on to get my bachelors in plant science with a concentration in biotechnology. I love my experience at SHS.

Not good. Wish I have moved in better school district that was passionate about educating the kids and dedicated to support High School Graduation and inspiring education and growth pass High School. The Teachers stomp on aspirations and my kids and their friends tell me how they hate school on the daily. Its disturbing and I have caught teachers in lies and nit picking at students. They need to get focused on educating the kids

The school seems to be making changes, such as replacing some teachers. However, they lack organization. They have far less students than other Gwinnett County High Schools making it concerning for their lack of organization.Their rules are a little overboard and the school lacks money in the extracurricular activities. The cheerleaders aren’t able to have cheer camp with colleges due to funding however, their cheerleading prices are roughly $400 more than other schools that offer more to the squad. I also do not like the fact that they want $1000 for football and basketball season. Your child will have a guaranteed spot for football season but must tryout for basketball season in order to participate. Note if your child does not make the cheer squad for basketball season, no refunds will be given although you paid for both seasons initially.

My experience with Shiloh has been great with teachers. My son graduated this year. The school counselor Dr. Williamson was Awesome. Whatever I needed she was available to assist. If it took her a little longer than normal to get back to me she apologized and made sure we were taken care of. My son's teachers were also AWESOME with getting back to me when I voiced concerns.

The counselors and some of the teachers could careless if the students pass or fail. The counselors do not communicate to the parents if your child is in danger of failing. They are there to just collect a paycheck!! There is a lack of administrative support and are not resourceful at all. When you reach out to the counseling department, Ms Simmons continually transferred me to a number that just rang then hung up. I have been inquiring about the AP exam and still have yet to receive a response. Not a good school at all!!! Its discouraging for the parents I can imagine how the children must feel!!! This will be my last experience with the Shiloh cluster. Im pulling all my kids out!

The special education department is severly undertrained. Teachers and administrators are Facebook friends and allow their association to negate the needs of children.

We came to Metro-ATL clueless from Australia 3 years ago and absolutely find Shiloh the most wonderful educational experience for our two older children who are attending now. We had been in California (with my husband's career) in the US previously followed by two years back in Queensland and did not like the school system in the area where we lived in Cali (Orange County). NOT THE CASE HERE! WE ADORE SHILOH! We are very impressed by Shiloh's IB/AP curriculum and the program is flourishing at the school. Unlike many schools with IB/AP Curriculums that do not do well, ours at Shiloh is thriving and growing. IB/AP is invaluable these days to save cost on College and University tuition. Another plus is that the school is in a very pleasant and prosperous and commuter friendly close-in suburb where you keep the same neighbors for a long time unlike other ATL suburbs where we have had friends go and all the corporate in and out's left them with ever changing neighbors every few years. We hope to get to stay here a number of more years and look forward to our two younger children attending Shiloh later.

Shiloh is an amazing school with a great IB/AP curriculum. This year I would say don't sign your students up for theatre. The teacher was absolutely terrible. She never helped up prepare for the final at all. When I saw it I couldn't believe I learned nothing from the final and I think its so unfair. Why should won trifling teacher get to ruin your GPA.

My daughter and I were skeptical about Shiloh in the beginning because we were unfamiliar with the school but it turns out it was the best decision we made over Brookwood, Parkview, and Grayson with her going to the 9th grade. The school is not only challenging in it academics (Gwinnett County overall) but the extracurricular activities such as an (EXCEPTIONAL BAND & DIRECTOR) band, (New former Div 1 girls basketball coach) basketball, and (State Champions 2014) track program open the doors for her to grow and she absolutely loves her school. Now she says she is attending college with no doubts about going to Howard University without me (Parent) pushing her. The modern homes and convenience of shopping, commute to Atlanta or leaving the district keeps me loving where we stay. Don't sleep on this school!
