I’ve had all 4 of my children for to Alta High School even though I work as an educator in another local high school. ALTA has been stellar preparing them for college and they have all done very well after high school, owing much of their confidence and success to the teachers at ALTA. The teachers were very encouraging, and Interested in what came next for my kiddos. They gave a solid education along with opportunities like “Step to the U” which aren’t available at other local schools. They have a great offering of AP classes and well as the amazing location. Overall, Alta has been a great school that I am beyond grateful for.

Alta is definitely a great school. Our children attend here and they love it. The teachers and admin have proven to us over and over again how much they care about their students and for that we are thankful. Go Hawks!

Alta High School is a very innovative school with excellent teachers who go the extra mile to ensure student success. Lots of extracurriculars and very involved parents.

BEWARE parents of students with disabilities!!! Alta's administration deserves "0" stars. I have a special needs child who is mainstreamed, and we had to CONSTANTLY educate the support staff there about her disabilities, which they were in denial of, regardless of the fact that my child has had an IEP since elementary school. Some "new" and also some "old," and jaded teachers were horrible, while some of the veteran teachers and the counseling staff were excellent. We had serious problems with the principal. Instead of recognizing the serious mistakes made on the part of inexperienced staff and offering training and support, the administration (VERY inexperienced themselves) accused my child of misconduct, effectively "blaming the victim" and denying any wrongdoing on their part. This was despite the fact that my child had an above average grade point average, even qualifying for college courses, and a good rapport with teachers before attending this school. For the first time ever, we had to involve legal counsel. If your disabled child is mainstreamed in the general ed classroom, look elsewhere. We did, and our student earned a 4.0 the final quarter of the year.
