My son was diagnosed with ADHD & Autism at age five in Washington state. When he was finally tested by the San Manuel school psychologist, he diagnosed him with ADHD no Autism and a learning disability, then put him in a special ed class with an IEP or Individual Education Plan, with a teacher who has no patience and has got this I'm better than anyone attitude. Since the start of the school year, my son has not had recess, because, according to his teacher he has a hard time getting along with his peers and was put on an intervention plan, and I get daily reports sent home. In these daily reports she has nothing nice to say about my son. Now when a substitute teacher reported on him one day, she said 75% on task & 100% polite. I found with my son, and explained this to his teacher, principal, and the school shrink, that if you encourage and praise him he wants to do good, and he does, but if you are constantly finding fault with him then he will act accordingly. This school is one if the worst I've seen and they offer NO help in the special education department, as they don't want to spend any money.

My child attended this school, and the teachers and staff have been great. They actively take an interest in helping the children to progress, and help to deal with any issues that arise. From what I have seen, this is even true in the case of students that need extra attention or help. Parent involvement is low, with no PTA; however, getting involved with the school and volunteering is as easy as inquiring at the office or to your child's teacher.

My Child attended this school for 1st grade. We kept telling them he was autistic and the so called Counselor practically laughed at us. We were glad to move away and as soon as he started his new school the teachers saw right away he had problems and is autistic. This is the worst school district in my opinion that I have ever had dealings with. And now my Son is Happy and learning thanks to his new school and teachers. Stay away from this school if you have a special needs child.
