We began our journey at Rocketship Discovery Prep 5 years ago after researching and visiting many other options for our daughter who was ready for TK. After leaving our tour of the school, we were very excited that we had found the right fit for our family. Rocketship isn't like every other school out there. There is an extensive summer programs in place to train their teachers the Rocketship way. All members of the staff are on the same page, understand the expectations, and are given the coaching and resources to follow through with providing an excellent education for their students. Communication and partnership with parents is at a very high level, offering parents the opportunity to understand and support all aspects of their children's education, progress and goals. There are programs such as Los Dichos, online learning platforms, YMCA as well as a great culture and lots of activities that encourage the social emotional growth of the children. Parents also have resources such as the Student Site Counsel and Principal Cafecitos at which they can attend, be a voice and participate in assisting the school leadership understand the needs from a parent perspective. I am a results driven parent, and I can attest to both of our daughters excelling at an exceptional rate year after year. Along with that, they have built a love of learning thanks to Rocketship keeping learning fun for our kids. I am confident that the foundation Rocketship has provided will guide them throughout their education and into adulthood. Thank you RDP for all you have done and continue to do for our children!

Teachers are involved. They are excited. Not just teachers but all staff. They are all about a movement to bring all children regardless of any obstacles to their full potential and goals for a better education. The goal of a college education. My friend had a daughter went to another Rocketship K-5 and a son K-2 and continuing. My child entered at 1st and is excited about his school, learning, teachers, garden and friends. My expierience so far has been all positive.

Not a good school. This is my child's second year here and the quality of teachers is terrible! Both years there have been teachers who quit with no warning , leaving the kids to adjust to another new teacher. When I've been volunteering at the school, there are always kids out in the hallway screaming and having problems. It's ridiculous and disruptive!

Every child has the opportunity to learn here. My children are excelling in this academic environment. The principal is amazing and in the second year of the school new artistic programs are starting. Warning: the homework is overkill!

Prior to this school my daughter was in a private school, the private school was very good; Discovery Prep is superior. My kinder son is reading, writing sentences, adding, subtracting and knows 100 sight words. This is a boy who we originally thought was not even ready for kinder due to his late November birthday. The innovative hybrid personalized teaching method is amazing. My second grade daughter is developing critical thinking skills and writing short essays. The majority of families are there because they want their children to succeed and attend college. The energetic principal is passionate and only hires the best & the brightest. My son s kindergarten teachers went to Yale and Stanford! No teacher s union red tape mumbo jumbo, this is a charter school, just passionate well paid top notch teachers that help aspire their student to excel to their fullest God given potential. Yes, the daily homework is massive. Yes, you must do 40 parent volunteer hours per child. Yes, the school is in a very bad neighborhood; however, if you are looking for a free top notch superior education for your child or children don t rule this school out. I encourage you to do a site visit.
