I have been involved with St. Hyacinth Academy for about 2 years and I love this school. I love how even though it is a small school community there is a lot of involvement with staff and families. This school is a very high moral, and high educational expectations. I have had my daughter attend here for about 2 years now and I appreciate the love and support the school gives to her. I feel very comfortable speaking to her teachers about any needs she may have or if she is struggle in a specific area I may approach to her teachers whatever the situation may be. I know the school was really affected by COVID but that did not stop the school from continuing to succeed and regrow. I like that since the school is small that the student/teacher and family/teacher relationship is a bit more one on one. I appreciate that the school in incorporating technology in the classroom so the kids can stay up to date in todays learning environment. I do see that the school is old and I hope to in the near future the school continues to get more of our community involvement to be able to help the school keep growing and succeeding in trying to keep updating their education system.

My family is entering our third year at St. Hyacinth. I can not say enough good things. My son not only has excelled beyond my expectations but he actually loves school. His teachers got him to the point where he is and continue to challenge him beyond his grade level which is going to set him up for his future. The school, teachers and principal are very good about communicating with it's parents. We are often getting information about happenings at the school, about my child's progress from the teacher and updates and emails about the school from the principal. The sense of community here is wonderful. It is more than a school it is a family. I fully recommend sending your children here. It will set them up for a successful future.

I have been a parent of this school since 2014, and have had two kids go through this school. I LOVE this school, it is a small school and has small class sizes. My son is in high school now and because he went through this school he is advanced in his grade level. He will be finishing curriculum that is requirement to graduated before he even hits Jr. year. He will also be graduating high school with his AA. The teachers are always talking with the parents and keeping them up to date on their progress. The principal has a open door policy for students, staff and parents. She goes above what any public school principal would do for the families at their school. She is always outside in the morning greeting every car and helping unload students at drop off. If you want a small classroom setting and teachers and staff that go above the call of duty for your child(rens) education please don't hesitate considering sending your child(ren) to this school.

This school is horrible. Most of the teachers don’t know how to do their jobs. They’re horrible at explaining schoolwork and are lazy when it comes to teaching. Some of the teachers are very rude and don’t know how to do their job. Teachers aren’t interactive with kids and the kids there are annoying and bratty. This school does a horrible job at teaching kids with disabilities. They don’t even have Special Ed. There’s a 15 year old kid in 8th grade who’s still doing 5th grade math. They are doing a horrible job to help him keep up. In terms of safety this school is not safe. There are several clear entrances that aren’t the school entrances. For example, there’s a tree that gives a clear pathway over the school fence. I know this because i saw someone climb on it and instead of jumping into the school they jumped into someones yard ( apparently his parents house). By the front gate there are 2 statues you can jump on and get into the school. This school was literally robbed. The principal told all the kids they had been robbed and are replacing the locks. When it comes to family engagement it’s nothing special. The principal is awful at her job. She was put into the position after the other principal had medical issues. Yes, she was put into the position quickly but shes been doing the job for years, that’s enough time to get your stuff together. On top of not being a good principal she was a horrible teacher. when it came to communicating with the parents it isn’t there. She’s pretty annoying and is always bugging you. She also doesn’t care about the students problems. As a past student i know this. I know several kids who got bullied when she was a teacher and a principal and those were never handled with. Overall i would NOT enroll you kids here as it is not a good school. Its not safe or good when it comes to learning.

I will highly recommend this school, the teachers go above and beyond to make sure that your child succeeds! Not to mention the foundation faith is strong also. Your kids will be happy here.

We are leaving after 3 years here. I am sad to report the school has taken a dive this year. My daughter has experienced bullying and overall it seems like a rougher group of kids is enrolled. It has been frustrating to see my kids struggle both socially (daughter) and academically (son) and feel like the support isn’t there. The principal is not approachable at all, she comes off dismissive besides being extremely strict with the students. The atmosphere is not what it used to be and it’s sad honestly because when we first came here we were planning to stay utill high school. I hope they can turn it around because we don’t have that many options in our area.

RUN! Bullying was persistent and we got little to no effective support from her teacher and principal and beyond that my daughter has fallen so behind after attending this school for just 1 year. I do not feel as though this school supports overcoming challenges very well.

Best School In Town!! last year was my kids first year at this school, she couldn't have bee happier, she loves her teachers and is now excited to move on. Teachers take the one on one time which each individual kids to explain each concern. Would definitely recommend.

I am a retired Public School teacher, three of my grandchildren attend St.Hycinth's Academy and I have been very pleased with the excellent education they have received. The curriculum is rigorous and well taught to the students, the teachers excellent, homework appropriate for the grade level and expectations, the religious community is an additional benefit, in keeping with the stated mission statement of the school. My grandchildren like to go to school, have made good friends in a safe environment, and their parents are very pleased with the school. The principal is compassionate yet strict, I appreciate her professionalism. I only wish the education extended on through High School. God bless all who have a calling to education our children.
