My son is doing very well at this school. He's sharp, smart and a excellent reader and great at math. I applaud the teacher. Thank you

I feel this school gets a bad reputation due to the location. The principal is amazing, she remembers the students name so it is more personal. The yard supervisors are amazing and make it more comfortable for my daughter to attend school. I love the fact that they have a closed campus. They have great security measures which makes me feel better sending my daughter to that school given its location. The staff does a great job of communicating with the parents. If there is a problem they do their best to get it taken care of. The homework is grade appropriate and is always challenging my daughter. She is a top student in her class. Overall I love this school and my advice to others is dont judge the school by its location.

great school integrity all the way around ! awesome supportive staff team ! my kids really love it there ! they practice what they preach when it comes to positive attributes ! the principle is an awesome role model ! she is strict when she needs to be but most of the time very kind and compassionate towards everyone !

This school has been going down hill for years. until this year they at least kept me involved and my daughter was doing work albeit poorly. this year (4th g) she's not doing hardly any work in school or at home and is failing utterly. can't even catch her teacher after class (she's quick out the door) and no call in's like last year. was told they have over 30 students per class and don't have the time to dedicate to her when there's so many "others" that need guidance. just got notice today that she can switch to another school since they are in "PI" (program improvement year 3). english 39.5 proficient, math 36.4% proficient as of the Jacob wens parental notice dated january 6, 2014.

This school feels very non transparent,as a parent I had important question about my son's performance and mental well being, and at first she seemed very communicative, then she called in sick for our first parent - teacher conference. She had told me to contact her anytime via E-mail or phone. She has never E-mailed back or called me back after several attempts at both. No one, including the principal can tell me why. They keep on making excuses instead of giving me answers. I just want to make sure my child is alright at school. That is all. Only at most a half hour of someone's time. I have to tell this, so someone else doesn't have to go through the same thing.

I am so happy with this school. They do not tolerate bullying. The teachers are good too.

This school is a definite work in progress. I personally went to this school almost every day for a semester for one of my high school classes. I saw what most of the parents did not. The teachers are very stressed from the budget crises and the work overload. These teachers are underpaid and yet they still managed to get up every weekday morning and go help these children learn. The principal is very thoughtful of these children and she does the best she can with what she has. These teachers are all about the students. I am personally thrilled that I had the chance to be with these teachers and children. I hope to be able to see them all grow to be very successful. I grew to love my teacher Ms. Glass and all of my students. They gave me reason to smile when I walked into the classroom door and heard an echo of "Ms. Ryan!!!" I love those kids and I know that all of them will exceed most of our expectations some day. Congratulations Jacob Weins!!! You have the cream of the crop!!!
