We love St. Paul's! I have 2 children who attend the school and we've had an amazing experience. The class sizes are small and the community is fun and friendly. It really does feel like a big family in Noe Valley. I also love that the principal is an alumnus of the school and was a teacher for many years. Her heart is in this school and the community.

My 7th and 4th graders have been at St. Paul's since Kinder and we couldn't be happier with this community. The school is warm and welcoming, and provides very solid academics for students. My children have good friendships and have learned to be responsible and kind community members. School offers Spanish, music, enrichment classes after school, and many athletics teams.

This is a wonderful school. Both our children attended the pre-school and are now in 3rd and 5th grade. The community is warm and welcoming to all. The teachers hit all academic goals and are also kind and supportive. Highly recommend this school.

Wonderful community; teachers and leadership encourage peer to peer support and the older kids are active mentors to the younger students

This school is warm and caring and the parent community is inviting. There is a "here for the good of the kids" attitude all around. Teachers are very communicative with parents. There is a weekly newsletter from the Principal. Weekly progress reports and an internal communication website for families spots nightly homework, grades, calendars, announcements, etc

This school is thrivomg. Students are engaged and happy! There are plenty of leaning opportunities for students who learn differently. The faculty is seasoned and compassionate. There is an appropriate amount of rigor for the middle school level and the students exit with confidence and are easily prepared for the wide variety of high school paths before them. The graduates are accepted to the best high schools in San Francisco!

We have had a very positive experience at St. Paul's school.-Principal and leadership has changed and is very strong.-Teachers are consistently good; though they rely on a lot of worksheets and there isn't much support for kids that are ahead of average, and you have to press them to get advice on how to support your own kids.-The school environment is new, clean and bright with good equipment and facilities.-The after school programs have improved a good deal, including access to engaged aftercare, sports, music, drama, and other special programs.-The parent community is small but engaged.-On the whole, I recommend St. Paul's without reservation.

I have a 2nd grader and 7th grader, who both started as kindergartners at St. Paul's. It's a loving community. The new principal is motivated and an excellent communicator. The teachers have been fabulous and are very child-focused. The 6th graders spend a week at an outdoor camp and it is an incredible growth experience. There is a strong focus on science and technology. I highly recommend!

My child has been with St. Paul's School for a few years now and I have been very happy with the experience. The teachers and aides we've had thus far have been top notch, very involved, and energetic. They and the administration are very accessible and communicate effectively with the parents. The class size for the lower grades is a bit large, but my child gets the attention she needs and likewise she also gets the time and experience of working independently. I keep tabs on the academics for my child's grade level and trade notes with kids in our neighborhood that attend other public and private schools. St. Paul's matches or exceeds those I've compared. And most also follow the Common Core standards. The kids in the class come from a variety of family backgrounds, and not just ethnically speaking. While different backgrounds, we all share the same goal of supporting our kids and the school. The St. Paul's community is a fun and lively bunch. There are plenty of events for parents to participate in. From picnics, festivals, dinner fundraisers, athletics and so on there is plenty to do if you are so inclined. Indeed, there is usually a waiting list for parents wanting to chaperone the various field trips. All in all a great place for kids to learn and grow.

I really appreciate the changes that Sister Kathy has made. She has great confidence in her staff, (as she should...they are excellent), and communicates with parents and families in an attentive and loving way. This is a great community to be a part of!

I am extremely proud to be a part of the St. Paul's School Community! For 98 years we have been providing quality Catholic education in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. Our dedicated teachers go the extra mile for all of our students to ensure their success academically and socially. Our enthusiastic parent community continually strives to create a collaborative and supportive community environment for all. We are more than a school, we are a community with lots of heart!!

Couldn't be happier! We have an 8th grader and Kindergartener and are so pleased with how things are going. We are especially excited about the Spanish and Technolgy programs--lots of great things happening there. My little kindergartener is excited to go to school and learning tons of new things. Miss Kiss and Espi rock! My 8th grader is a star! Applying to all the top high schools and fully prepared for what's ahead. The teachers are tops and Sr. Kathy (our new Principal) is great!

We love St. Paul's both as a school and as a community. Both of our children are doing well in school and are enjoying participating in all St. Paul's has to offer: academics, sports, and various enrichment opportunities. The teachers, faulty and staff are all very approachable and are vested in the success of the students. The new prinicipal is a real go-getter and is making great things happen!

We are very pleased that we chose St. Paul's for our children. The new principal is amazing and all of the faculty is top notch. The science program is available for all grades and is taught by enthusiastic teachers. The P.E. program, which is through CYO teaches health and cooking as well as the importance of exercise. The extra curricular activities are wonderful and include, dance, music, drama, chess and of course sports. St. Pauls is truly a great community.

I have been a member of St Pauls Parish for over 17 years and an active part of the school Parent community for going on 9 years. We are very excited about our new Principal, Sr. Kathy Camacho. My 3 children have thrived at St. Pauls, been involved in sports, spelling and speech tournaments, numerous music and art classes and extracurricular activities. They have made life long friends, have learned the importance of community. They have recieved an excellent education. I have found so many great like minded friends that recognize and appreciate the time and effort that it takes to educate your kids and the benefits of being involved. I suspect my experience is more in the majority of what other families have experienced.

It is a shame that disgruntled parents feel the need to post such negative reviews based on their personal experience. One parent cannot speak for all, and each student/family must find their respective fit. Each and every family should be able to decide for themselves, rather than take the word of a disgruntled family. Be more specific with your reason for the unhappiness -- that way, other families can decide for themselves whether it is an issue that steer them away.

I have read over all 82 reviews and offer this wisdom: divided we fall. We have long since given up hope that this community can be cohesive. Some think it can rest on its laurels.....years old by now. Instead of placing the children first, this seems to be the case: 1. Money 2. Parent cliques 3. Power struggle Academics, which I understand used to be a strength are just so-so. Certainly not creative. Workbook driven. My children enjoy sports and that has kept us loyal to a point. 2013 will definitely see us move on. I mean! No principal? what next? No teachers?
