I have three kids in this school. All teachers have been warm and genuinely care about their students. One of my sons was referred by his teacher to meet with the school counselor due to his emotional and social skills. Teachers are very willing to work with parents to improve any issues related to my child wellbeing. In general, communications regarding student progress and learning between teachers and parents are almost daily. You know exactly what is happening in the school. The principal, Ms Gaboury, is amazing. She remembers all my kids’ names and their classrooms every time I walked into her office. During covid, all classrooms were relocated outdoor. From this new classroom setting (canopy, partitions, seat arrangements, etc), you can tell immediately how thoughtful and caring the planning staff are.

We have two children at Arundel and we are very pleased with the quality & engagement of the teachers and the principal. We are also impressed by the high level of parent/community involvement with things like Science Night, Fun Run, Talent Show,...and so forth.Buildings and equipment are a little outdated & need to be refreshed.

Arundel staff is always trying to find the best way to deliver learning to our kids, including safety around the school, improving routes to the school so kids can walk and of course the always creative hard working teachers and principal.

Arundel is the best! We have two kids attending here. We were immediately welcomed into the Arundel community by the parents and staff when we moved here- it feels like a family! One of my children has some learning challenges and there is great support offered. As others have noted, Arundel has a high level of parent involvement. A large majority of parents are involved in the PTA. There are about 3 teachers per grade level. I think ALL of the Arundel teachers are exceptional. That being said, the complaint about PTA parents getting "preferential teacher placement" seems a bit petty. The principal, Mr. Paulson does a fantastic job. He has followed up with the few issues we have risen, and if he hadn't, I would feel very comfortable talking to him about it directly as he is very approachable. Great librarian, PE coach, secretary, support staff. If you are not happy at Arundel, you may be very unhappy with your child's educational experience elsewhere. We are so thankful to all of the people who make Arundel a wonderful, safe, and happy place for our children to learn.

I agree that PTA parents are able to navigate their children into the best teachers' classes but I believe the majority of teachers are fantastic and really do care about our kids. I also believe that in the majority of state schools your children's education has to be backed up at home and you cannot rely on what's being taught at Arundel to be sufficient. I do not agree that Mr Paulson is an effective Principal. His strings are controlled by San Carlos School District which has many flaws. Mr Paulson is very nice and agrees with everything you raise and then does nothing. His split grade classes have been disastrous and the school community cannot believe that those involved have kept their jobs. The school community is amazing though. The calibre of parents and how hard they work to support their children and teachers makes Arundel stand out. Beware of the teachers union!

Conveniently located, high scholastic standards, high parent involvement, excellent principal. Building and equipment is a little out dated, but they are slowly refreshing as budget becomes available.
