As a family that was involved with Providence Academy for 10 years, we are very disappointed at the school we loved. No longer a safe place for children. With no published volunteer policy, our child was taken out of childcare without our permission. She was missing for an hour. Administration seemed unconcerned and no policy has ever been published. We pulled our younger child and administration forced us to pull our high school student. This is no longer a Christ-centered school, they are more worried about money and enrollment.

Providence is a unique gem in the St. Louis private school world. I've loved having my daughter attend this school with its nurturing, caring teachers, strong curriculum, and organized leadership. They have managed the pandemic crisis well—providing a clear plan that has allowed students to meet safely in person this year, which was a must for our family with both parents working. I couldn't be more thrilled to have my daughter attending Providence!

There is no longer a PE program that is required for a MO HS diploma, was advised that next year (2020 - 2021) that they likely will not be able to offer a lunch program, this year they were unable to offer a hot lunch, only cold sandwiches. The staff has been overtasked and they continue to make staff reductions to keep the doors open. They do not offer AP classes and allow seniors to participate in college courses outside of school hours.

Providence is a school I would not hesitate to recommend. The culture is unique, the community is strong, and the academics are rigorous. My children have been taught the needed skills to become lifelong learners and to truly appreciate the wisdom, truth, and beauty that is around them and throughout history.

Providence is a school that gets what Christian classical education is all about. As a parent, I want my kids to learn the basics of functioning in the world (reading, writing, arithmetic), but also the rich wisdom, literature, science and history of the ages. I also want to trust that my kids are receiving a Christ-saturated (not only Christ-centered) education. Providence's teachers, adminstration, and parents share my desires. No school is perfect, and there are always going to be ways we can do better. But Providence is a school I recommend without hesitation.

Outstanding. I was a homeschooler for years for lack of a learning community I trusted with my children. Providence has been literally heaven sent to our family.

I can hardly say enough about what a blessing Providence has been to our entire family. The strength of the academics, the small class sizes, the support of the faculty and staff, and the spiritual atmosphere have all contributed to the development of our children in ways we could not have imagined when we enrolled them years ago. We are so grateful to have found a place like Providence and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to shape their children in wisdom, virtue, and eloquence to the glory of God.

Our experience was awful. Our child came away from Providence with a distrust of teachers. Our child had minimal issues until coming here. Child was tested and is gifted with very high IQ. Teachers were unwilling to offer any type of advanced work even though coursework given our child had been doing for years at previous school. Our child was reading at a level 3 years beyond grade level and able to add/subtract/multiply while teacher was teaching how to recognize letters and numbers and count to 10. Our child started regularly having behaviors that he did not have at previous school and has not had since. Teacher focused on negative aspects of child and would not acknowledge child's strengths or give positives. The teacher addressed us as if our child's behaviors were completely due to some fault of ours. Teacher was unwilling to try anything different or offer suggestions. For being a Christian school, I was surprised to find that the aspect of God's love and mercy was missing here. I am so grateful we left when we did and am amazed at how many others have had negative experiences here. This school talks a great talk but does not live up to their talk or website. Other families who have left this school have found that their children are behind academically, especially with reading (which ironically is supposed to be a focus of this school). If you are considering this school, I encourage you to pray about it, look beyond the website and promises the school makes, ask administration how many teachers and children left school over the previous year. Our child has made great strides at his new school and we are so happy we made the switch.

What was once a promising and amazing school has careened over a cliff in spectacular fashion. The strong sense of community that they hammer on is so shallow that if you leave the school your child no longer exists to their ‘’friends’’ that still attend. Prepare yourself for annual average tuition increases of 6% at the least. Avoid this toxic school.

I have 2 children in Providence Classical Christian Academy. Both are thriving and look forward to going to school. The academics are challenging and the community is welcoming. Class sizes are small and the teachers are able to give more one on one help.

We have been more than satisfied and very grateful for the education and foundation for life that our children have received (and are receiving) at Providence. Our oldest three children (all Providence grads) have received full-tuition academic merit scholarships at their first-choice colleges. But more importantly, they have maintained a genuine love of learning, love of literature, music, poetry, history, languages, art, and ideas. And, they have kept their head on their shoulders, not approaching life as a competition to be won, but as a gift to be enjoyed, and as an opportunity to love and serve others.

There are other great private Christian schools not far Providence. I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a Christ-centered and positive experience for their child to keep looking. Our family is much happier after leaving Providence.

We started our oldest son at Providence this year for Kindergarten. We knew that he would attend private school, but we weren't really sure where. We heard about Providence and decided to check out the school at an open house. We were sold on the classical education approach and how welcoming the staff and families were. We are so thankful for Providence; it is indeed the best possible place for our son.

Because of its intentionally-modest location, Providence can sometimes be overlooked by the St. Louis community, but it shouldn't be! It offers time-tested, rigorous academics that build year upon year from K-12th grades, fully integrated with a profound Christian worldview. The small school setting provides rich opportunities for mentoring and friendships and cultivates a sense of community that transcends all grade levels. I have three children in the school and could not be more impressed with what they are learning and the care the personal attention they receive from their teachers. The Latin and literature are excellent. Quality extracurriculars are available. And the tuition rate is one of the lowest in the area. Great value!!

PCCA is the best value for the money in the St. Louis area for a classical education. The curriculum is well planned, the faculty is very competent and caring, and the school reinforces the Christian faith of the families. We are impressed every year with the material learned in the Grammar years, the clear thinking shown in all subjects throughout the Logic portion, and the accomplished writing and public speaking demonstrated in the upper school's Rhetoric stage. Besides having high academic expectations, the school also has a very wholesome atmosphere. Boys act like gentlemen, girls like ladies, and older students are considerate to younger students. Whether it's 2nd graders learning all the bones of the body, 7th graders growing in their ability to read Latin, or 9th graders participating in a Shakespeare production, the students are challenged to find what is true and beautiful in God's creation. Although it's physical plant isn't impressive and it's extra-curricular activities are not extensive, the results achieved are very impressive and at a much lower cost than other private Christian schools. We admire this school and our children are thriving there.

If you are looking for a small, private, classical, Christian school then Providence Classical Christian Academy is perfect. The curriculum is wonderful and it is awesome to see what students can accomplish when they are challenged. The teachers and staff are great and are always available. The community of families is the best. You will not meet a better group of parents and families who always come together for the good of the school.
