Monroe has been an excellent school for my daughter to attend. She is excelling in math, reading and social skills. We have been with them throughout Covid 19 and they navigated these challenges very well to ensure all students and teachers have their needs met.

I could not be more happy with Monroe! The amount of time spent daily in class reading and writing is amazing...even in kindergarten! The teachers and staff at Monroe are the kindest, most caring people. My kids have learned so much at Monroe and I am extremely pleased with the education they are receiving.

I am an extended family member of children in your early grades. I am very concerned that they are not learning to read and write. I do not believe they are being taught to spell, and so are also not reading well. I do think that teaching children to spell words correctly should be a part of basic education and should be built upon each year. Learning to spell, pronounce, read and understand work together and must be taught. I have fond memories of learning to read, write, spell, pronounce, and understand words, and I cannot imagine how any less could end up being called an "accredited" or good education. I pray this effort will improve for all students at Monroe Elementary. At the present time, given what I know, I do not agree a 4 star on this website is appropriate, more like two. I would not give accreditation to any school that could not teach the basics in the early grades. The futures of these children are at stake.

Monroe Elementary is an awesome school. They have high expectations and help each student achieve the expectations at their own rate. The curriculum is amazing. If a child is not working at grade level, then interventions are put in place to help that child in every way possible. The teachers and principal are extremely caring. I love the new standards based grading system, as it tells me exactly what my child is able to do and what he still needs to work on. I absolutely love that my son attends a school with such a caring and nurturing environment.

I love the school but I strongly dislike the"speed" curriculum. Everything is based on speed, speed math speed reading. My children have gotten straight A's their entire lives, my some reads at a middle school level, but because he does not read fast, he is failing? He has always had an enriched reading and spelling program, now he is spelling 1st grade words because he reads slow?! What about comprehension? who cares how fast you read if you don't know what you are reading? I am very unhappy with this.

This school has gone above and beyond my expectations as a parent to assist my child in becoming an excellant reader. Thank you so much!
