Harris Elementary is really nailing it in several key areas. First off, they've got learning and teaching down pat, thanks to a mix of cool, innovative lessons and super dedicated teachers. They really get that each kid learns differently and cater to that. Then there's the emotional side of things. The school is big on making sure every student feels emotionally supported, not just academically. It's the same with their special education program – it's super inclusive and personalized, so everyone gets the help they need. Safety-wise, they're on top of their game too, creating a safe and cozy place for everyone. And let's not forget how they bring families into the mix. Parents are really involved, which makes the whole school vibe even more awesome. All in all, Harris Elementary is killing it in creating a great place to learn and grow.

I was a tutor for 3 years at Harris. I found it to be a very caring and progressive school.

My daughter just started kindergarten and we are loving it! There's a line of staff every morning that opens the car doors for the kids and they know all the kids by name. They are greeted with a big smile and a "good morning _____, I'm so glad you're here today" high fives with some of the older kids & there's a stereo playing some rock or pop music to get the kids excited for school. What a great way to start the day!

One star would be an understatement but that is the lowest I can give.

Substandard. The principal does not like being contacted my parents, yet his picture keeps showing up in the district newsletter. He also caves very easily to teachers request. So if you’re a teacher who doesn’t want to do anything, apply at the school! I apologize to the few teachers who are absolutely wonderful. The general consensus of parents whose children no longer attend Harris is, “thank goodness we’re finally finished at that school!” I can’t wait for the day.

I have 2 children currently at Harris and we abosuletly love it. The new principal (Mr. Plumlee) is absolutely amazing and the staff and teachers are equally as awesome. We did experience the old principal, and the reviews based off her were warranted, but that is not the case now. One of our daughters is going through the IEP process now. They have been so helpful all year with working with her a d accommodating her needs. Our other daughter has no concerns and is involved in several of their extracurricular activities. Both girls love their school. Our youngest child will go there in a few years and I couldn't imagine him going to any other school!

I have had many issues with this school. The Staff is rude and unwilling to work with you. The Principal Mrs. Harding was not open to meeting but none of the meeting where helpful nor did they change anything. I had issues with the Bus dropping my Kindergartener off without a parent which was a part of their policy. I was being charged for lunches after sending my child to school with lunch money. The teacher did not make my child feel safe in the classroom causing self esteem issues. The school gave my child a disadvantage with her teacher being sick and missing a lot of days. For months my child s teacher would be out or she would be in only for a half day and a sub would alternate. This caused too much confusion and missing class room rules and policies. My child has started to decline in her learning. This school has high numbers but it is poor quality. I would not recommend this school from my experience, and I have pulled my child out of this school.

I have never really written a review of anything really, but I was so disappointed in this school that I want to reach out and let others know how they could be treated. My son started kindergarten this year, I had written a note for the teacher to put my child in the parent pickup line at the end of the day because he no longer attended daycare in the evenings. When I went to pick up my child they had sent him to the daycare! They were rude and not very caring when at first they weren't sure as to where my child was, and had to call around to find him! At the beginning of the school year I was renting an apartment, later on I had purchased a home in another district. I am new to the rules and I did not want my child to have to leave his friends at kindergarten, so I did not mention the move. I had no idea it was a huge issue and when they got wind of me living at a different residence they sent a notice home that said, I needed to bring in proof of residence or my child will no longer attend their school. Then when I called the principle, she told me since I was out of district he had to transfer, only giving me a week to get it done. Just terrible. FYI

I don't know if its me but I have found the principal to be extremely rude. Its not what she's telling its the way shes telling it.Some teachers are extremely good and I'm lucky my kid got some really good teachers.

My daughter currently attends this school and as far as education this school is great, however my daughter started experiencing bullying and I came up to the school on three occassion discussing the problem with the guidance counsler and the principal and the very next year my daughter was in the same class with the "bully". Spoke with the principal and she stated she didn't know there was an ongoing issue. I feel there is really no understanding about bullying.
