I will start by saying that as far as the Saddle Brook Middle School Guidance department, it has definitely approved since my other child was there. Thank God for that. The school is going thru some transitions, hoping that they are all for the best.

If you plan to move to Saddle Brook just know that the school system here is really really bad. I just transferred to Saddle Brook Mid/High school for about 2 months now, and it is literally the worse experience ever. This school could care less about your opinion and they literally expect you to immediately know everything they covered when you weren't in that school. They are totally unfair and not understandable at all. Literally all the girls wear jeggings or even jeans but they don't get detention or anything. I wore jeggings today and I got detention when basically all or most of the girls wear jeggings also. Some classes make you test on things you haven't even learned yet in your old school. Also, transferring near the end of a marking period can be hard too because you wouldn't have any grades in for that marking period. Especially when they make you test on things you haven't learned yet, most likely you would fail that test, and that would be your only grade in that specific marking period. This school is horrible and the worst school I've been to, and i've transferred to multiple schools before. This one is the worst one yet. This school doesn't even deserve one star.

I am really impressed with the direction the BOE is going. With in the last 2 years they have made major changes to the curriculum and their passion of making all the schools the best. New members were voted in and have transitioned the district in the right direction. The new superintendent is a breath of fresh air.

As a student here for two years, I could honestly tell you that this school barely deserves 2/5 stars. I don't even know where to start. The teachers have no passion; they are there to get paid and are very unreasonable. The staff is constantly being changed and re-arranged. GLD's can now be used (Global Learning Devices, which is a fancy name they give to our phones/tablets), which are used to basically keep us occupied at lunch so we don't get too rowdy (although there were more fights in the cafeteria this year than I can count on one hand). Sometimes we use them to do research in class, although most people just go on Youtube or whatever during that time. Another thing is that complaints/grievances are ignored. They have a "bullying" policy, but my bullying issues were never fixed. I got bullied all throughout middle school and got in trouble for standing up for myself and others. You will get suspended like I did for hitting someone back if they hit you first. This school is a joke. The pros about this school are that there are advanced classes you could take to get ahead, and there is free and reduced lunch offered to those needing it (although the lunch is cheap as it is).
