When any school has 35 + students in a classroom, it is hard to learn. This school allows children to be on phones during class. For children who want to learn, other children playing video games is distracting. Then, there are teachers who push their agenda onto young kids....no bueno.

There are a few amazing teachers, who are very passionate and know how to connect with the students. I wish they were all like that. Good clubs and nice children.

My son is a freshman this year. We are happy he is in an academic setting, with come real competition. Very college prep focused. Very STEM. Few big sports, but my son gets sports and other activities outside of school. My son has not seen any smoking, drinking or vaping. vaping

Wasting the opportunity to nurture young high achieving minds into adulthood and instead they leave the school discouraged, disorganized, and getting high or drunk. The teachers are mostly great but the culture is toxic. It's one of the highest scoring schools in the area but that's because they only allow certain kids in not because the school is great. Ask around, most parents are frustrated and most kids hate it there.

This high school is just admitting good students but anyway is ranked 202 in California and the position in the 1100 in the nation, so what kind of job , help , tools is the high school using when even they get great students still they are one of the average high schools. Something is wrong. Is the job of the principal and teachers work on help good student to improve, it looks like they denied admission to good students that they are not great in every way to make their job easy and anyway they can't make it. Shame on them. In reject student they need help to reach their potential that is their job, start working and doing something for our kids instead of shut their dream and self esteem

There are no recent reviews but the school is struggling. I would seriously ask a lot of questions about which colleges their students end up enrolling in. The vast majority go on to community college not CSU or UC or private. There is not a systematic college prep counseling program. Why is that? Love of learning, creativity, problem-solving, and test scores are not enough. There are no line item courses in chemistry, biology, or physics. There are very few AP courses. Everything is integrated, which makes it difficult for colleges to judge their capabilities, and difficult for the students to thrive in the college environment later. My daughter graduated from Tech and although she is an excellent problem-solver, speaker, and group project member, she struggles now as a STEM major from the lack of dedicated upper division Science. It is a fantastic environment socially, and to foster the love of learning, but take advantage of the opportunities to use dual enrollment at the JC or SSU for UC oriented requirements. There is also no music program, the kids need to be pulled out and walk over to Rancho Cotate HS if they are to participate in the arts. Also there is an element of looking the other way when it comes to drug and alcohol use. The assumption by teachers and parents is that these kids are brilliant and not troublemakers. This is true, but they are not innocent. They still need supervision and enforcement of rules.

My daughter, a sophomore loves this school, teachers and the curriculum. As a parent, I find the level of interaction and project based learning to be instrumental to keeping her interested and excelling in her studies. She came from a project based program and excels at it. We all understand that the world is changing and our kids need the hands-on experiences to keep them motivated and strive to do better at everything. This school is built on excelling in every way and encourages community involvement and "giving back".
