I am thrilled to share my experience about Stephen Mack Middle School. This school is truly exceptional with a dedicated and caring staff who go above and beyond to help their students succeed. The counselor is amazing and provides excellent guidance and support to students. Safety is a top priority at Stephen Mack and the school has a strong bullying policy that ensures a secure and positive learning environment for all students. I highly recommend Stephen Mack Middle School to any parent looking for a quality education for their child.

My kid is not safe here because she gets bullied for little things like acne ,looks and her hair. They should allow phones so my daughter can contact me if she needs me.

We moved to the area about 4 moths ago, and my 6th and 8th grader are doing very well. The Sped program is very accommodating and have given my one daughter more help then she has very gotten at our old school. On the other end, it took a small amount of time to get my other daughter in the her advance classes. The delay was due to coming from another state. Over all I am very impressed with all of Rockton schools.

Good so far. Going into 7th grade. Great programs offered and hope my son will expand on those this next year.

Unless you've been going to great schools (like the ones in this area) your whole life, you will not succeed here. I came here from easily one of the worst schools in the state (Cowherd) and here; they simply assumed I knew how to do everything they were teaching. Because I was so far behind, I nearly failed 7th and 8th grade. And when my parents tried to explain this to them, they simply said I was trying hard enough. On top of that, in my year and a half there, I only had 2 teachers who actually even cared about my education. My 8th grade science teacher told me (in front of the entire class) that she'd be surprised if I even graduated from high school. Unbelievable. Plus guidance/social workers didn't care that I was being bullied and only did after I got sick of it and insulted the kid. Don't send your child here. Please don't

I am an 8th grade student at SMMS, and have gone through all three years here. the staff is amazing, never putting forth anything but 110%. The administration is even better, working tirelessly for the benefit of the students. Below, I read " the Principal is abrasive and I have seen her roll her eyes at students on many occasions which I feel is very inappropriate". This is not true. the principal is by far the best I've ever had, and I've gone through three diffident districts. She personally knows each and every student and would never do anything of this nature. She is always present at school, always helping. As far as the staff, I know for a fact that all of them love her very much, and share my opinion. Just to give you an idea of how much we all love her, during assemblies she will walk up to the microphone to begin. when she dose this, the whole school is instantly quiet and attentive. no one asked us to do this, but we do every time. we show her the most respect and love, and she gives it right back. She is the backbone of this school, and an exceptional principal. Test scores and personal opinions alike will tell you that SMMS is by far the best school in the state.

We started 2 1/2 years ago. I've had 3 children attend SMMS so far. This is how I see it: Excellent administration, excellent teachers and support staff ( with only a couple exceptions), excellent building structure and classroom setup, great kids attending (not at all like the Rockford peers my kids had to put up with for years), they're not asking for donations at every turn ( only about twice a year), and a friendly environment all in all. These teachers really go the mile for their students...you can feel the love.
