To whom it may concern,I am writing to express, my deep disappointment with the experience my children have had at India Hook. From the time my daughter attended to now with my son, our time at this school has been far from satisfactory. I am relieved that this will be our final year here. One of my primary concerns is the apparent lack of patience and understanding the teachers have for boys. It has become increasingly clear that the expectation for boys to remain still and compliant without opportunities for physical activity is detrimental. Boys need movement and the chance to expend their energy, yet the current approach seems to label natural behavior as ADD, often suggesting medication as a solution. This is not supportive of their developmental needs.Furthermore, the attitude and demeanor of some of the teachers have been troubling. They often seem angry and unapproachable. Despite my son's significant growth in maturity and academic performance, which exceeds district and state averages, there has been little recognition of his achievements. His progress, which reflects positively on the school's performance, has gone unnoticed and unappreciated. At the beginning of the school year, I expressed my concerns about his previous teacher, who, dealing with personal issues, unfairly targeted the boys in her class. I had hoped his current teacher would be more understanding and supportive, but that has not been the case. Despite clear examples of his growth in various areas, his efforts have not been acknowledged. This ongoing lack of recognition and support highlights a broader issue of discrimination against active boys at this school. The recent change in principal has not led to the improvements I had hoped for. The school's grade of 5 is indicative of the systemic problems I have observed with both of my children. My daughter is now an honors student in high school, but this is no thanks to the education she received here.In conclusion, I cannot recommend India Hook to other parents. Our experience has been one of frustration and disappointment. I hope the administration takes these concerns seriously and implements meaningful changes for the benefit of future students.

Fantastic. We absolutely love this school and the staff. Highly recommend. We have had at least one child at this school for the past 6 years.

The staff know all the kids, even teachers know kids who aren't in their class. The atmosphere is friendly, staff is easy to contact and will work with you. The layout is easy. Downside is there's such little parking. Because parents were having to park in nearby neighborhoods, the HOA started towing vehicles! India Hook has shuttled from a church a mile away but they planned poorly and parents had to wait an hour just to arrive to the school for open house. Overall great school.

The teachers for my son's first grade class was #1 in my group. She was always willing to go the extra mile. The great part is that it didn't stop with just her allot the staff I have had a great experience with.

This is the best school my children has ever been enrolled in. I am originally from Washington, DC and moved to South Carolina with my 3 boys early 2014. My oldest son has been diagnosed with ADHD from the time he was 3 years old and his former schools (5 schools total) had absolutely no idea what to do with him. His grades were slipping due to his behavior and the behavior was always looked over as just another bad seed. To make a long story short the teachers and staff at IHES worked diligently with my son and I to get him back on track and focused on his academics. They showed a genuine interest in my baby and know that he is a bright young man for that I will always be grateful.

IHES is hands down the best elementary school in Rock Hill. I have three children there this year and they're all being taught at their individual levels. Each student is just as important as the next, and the teachers truly care about each and every child. There is no worry if your child needs a little extra help, or maybe they are more advanced than the current curriculum. The teachers do such a great job at assisting those that need a little help, and they also find ways to keep children more advanced challenged and growing. It is truly a wonderful, safe environment. The students are also very respectful of their teachers - proof that they feel safe and taken care of.
