Absolutely wonderful, I couldn't say enough positive things about my son's experiences, their educators and staff.I was nervous when my son started his kindergarten because he is behind in his development. He was 5, but talked and acted like a 3.5 year old, and he had social skill issues that he would no communicate to anyone other than me. His teachers helped him out so he slowly started getting out of his own shelf, started communicating. He also had learning issues that needed extra helps from teachers. School assigned teachers to help him with reading and math. When he was in 1st grade, his reading was at level 4 regardless how hard I worked with him at home. He was assigned to work with a Reading Recovery teacher everyday, and within 3 months he jumped from level 4 to level 18, something that both myself and Kumon tutoring center couldn't do in almost a year! Oh, and even recovery teacher and program supported us during summer. When I expressed I needed help to find books within his level to read during summer, they event sent home new books for my son to read, and during summer we checked in every week for progress and to borrow new books to read each week.Teachers communicated with me on a daily basis when they sent home homework. I am not sure how it worked for other students, but as my son was in a recovery program, he did have homework everyday. Decent homework that helped him making progress. He loved Riverview and his teachers so much to the point he hated weekends, spring & winter breaks, and summer breaks. All he wanted to do everyday is to go to school to learn because "it is so much fun to learn" and he was "building and extending his brain". We are both sad and missed Riverview as we moved. There are great resources and support from this school. Because of Riverview, my son had awesome experiences and memories of his journey.

Teachers are awesome but the assistant principal has a chip on her shoulder. Just mentioning this assistants name to teachers at the school gets an eye roll from them. If they would get rid of this one then a 5 star all the way.

My daughter has been here since kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. Every year, her teachers have been amazing. Middle school has a lot to live up to!

We moved our kids into this school when my oldest was 8. Combined my kids had 9 years of education at RVES. One of those years was less than stellar academically for one child and because we were involved (as most parents are) it was easy to talk to the principal about it. The following year that child's test scores skyrocketed. The principle simply won't tolerate mediocrity. I really owe the teachers at this school a large debt of gratitude for 9 amazing years of pouring love and learning into my kids. It is a wonderfully diverse environment racially and in how they work with special needs kids. Many schools preach character but few expect it and coach for it. This school is imperfect; but not by too much.

I have 2 children that currently attend RVES and our entire family truly loves the school and its teachers, the programs (art, music, guidance, PE, Choraleer and MUCH more), the office staff and the leadership. Everyone is not only very friendly but also so personable; they all truly care about each child as an individual. They also offer Title I services for math and reading which my son has benefited from tremendously. The Title I and Homeroom teachers are wonderful and always go the extra mile to assure that the children are successful both academically and socially. I feel that with the help of RVES, my children will be well prepared to enter Middle School. Thanks RVES and Go Rockets!!!

This is an EXCELLENT school. You will not find one bad teacher in any grade. And the parents who support the school are the best. Everyone is involved and wish only the best for our students. GO RVES!!!!
