The education that our child receive at Lourdes compared to our experience with the local public schools is starkly different. The expectations of the students for excellence is clear and visible. We are pleased with our choice of exiting the public school system in favor of Catholic education.

I graduated from Lourdes High School in 1975. In the 48 years (!!!) since then, I have continued to benefit from the education I received there. The commitment to student learning, the example of faculty and coaches, the overall excellence of the academic and athletic programs, all contributed to creating an exceptional educational experience. My brothers and sister all attended LHS as well, and so have a number of my nieces and nephews. All have received a foundational education that has carried them to success and well-being in life. I highly recommend this high school to all in the Rochester area.

Lourdes has always been a special place to send your kids and in the recent years with the new state of the art building with fine arts and athletic facilities, much improved leadership and administration, and hiring of great teachers this will continue to prepare kids for the rigors of university. Incredibly safe environment and anti-bullying campaigns. Lourdes graduates have significantly higher scores than public school counterparts and the focus on academics is number one. about 20% of students are non-catholic/christian and thus this is not a requirement - the high school is less religious than the elementary catholic schools but enough to instill good behavior, doing the right thing, and lots of community services expectations from the students. Athletics are a huge part of student life and the kids compete statewide in a variety of sports and they are very proud to represent their school and many kids obtain both academic as well as athletic scholarships as a result. Not as diverse as the public schools however they offer scholarships for deserving underrepresented students. Tuition although not insignificant is much lower than private schools in the cities and there is significant value here, depends on what kind of environment you want your kids exposed to particularly in these changing cultural times and social media influence. We wanted our kids to be exposed to the type of principles and values that we teach at home and this is demonstrated daily at Lourdes.

Our family is grateful for Rochester Catholic Schools and Lourdes High School. We continue to see the strength of strong academics applied in the daily lives of our four children as they navigate their own lives as global citizens. Thank you, LHS, for being our partners in faith, education, and character.

This is an absolute trash of a school. They seem to hire the most unqualified and unprofessional individuals off the street and put a title tag on them as a teacher, a councelor, etc. The only qualification seems to be the "correct" religious denomination. I have experienced this level of collective gross negligence and incompetence from an educational institution before. By far THE WORST place to send your children if the objectives are to learn and succeed.

I graduated from Lourdes many years ago and my daughters graduated from Lourdes a few years ago.The support, consistancy of education and respect for the student at Lourdes allowed our daughters to grow and develope into the strong and independant women they are today. Thank the teachers who are dedicted to the students at Lourdes and they are many.

Lourdes is not what it used to be. Numerous teachers resigned or were fired, No experienced teachers left at this point. The new school has a chapel that has no chairs or pews for people to pray. All the best teachers are gone and so is the Catholic Identity. Test scores are better at the public schools.
