Worst school ever! My daughter attended half of 6th grade because we pulled her out cause of the bullying. She had half of her grade come after her and try to kill her. She is so emotionally damaged she refuses to step into another school so she does home school. The kids forced her to inappropriate words because they knew she has severe anxiety and OCD so she’s vulnerable. The principal wanted her to write an apology note to the whole school and then blamed us for her inappropriate words. Horrible!

My son is loving middle school. He is challenged in his learning, making new friends, and he feels very supported by his teachers. He has really enjoyed orchestra, art, and PE class this year along with the core subjects.

This school is HORRIBLE!!! I have had 3 children go through there and thankfully the last one one went for part of the 6th grade. It is one of the worst schools I have ever seen! I can attest to what the students say about bullying and the staff not caring or being able to control the kids. One of the students punched one of the staff so hard it broke her jaw! Keep your kids away from this school at all costs!!

I am a former student from John Adams. I went there for 7th and 8th grade (2013-2015). I absolutely hated attending this school. When I was in 7th grade a student tried to kill himself by jumping off the north stairwell. The current principal is the same one I had, and she was also my principal when I was in elementary school at gage. The administrative staff are extremely rude and refuse to help students most of the time. I honestly believed they just didn't care about their students, which wouldn't surprise me one bit. I was bullied almost every day I attended that school. There were multiple fist fights between students almost every passing period between classes. I'd get slammed into lockers by students I didn't even know. People would trip me as I was going down the stairs so I'd fall and knock everyone in front of me over as well and I'd get sent to the office like it was my fault. This school is hell on earth. From what I've heard from my friends who have siblings that still go here, the issues are only getting worse as the years progress.

A terrible school with a collection of mediocre teachers, indifferent support stuff, and very inefficiently run administrative staff.

We have had two students attend this school, one currently attending and while it is a large school, my kids have had overall very good experiences here. My kids have both said there are some troublemakers but are maybe 20-30 kids out of 1000 to avoid. There are kids here from a wide variety of economic and racial backgrounds, which is great as you don't get the self-segregating that happens at most private schools and a few of the public "choice" schools. Teachers have done a good job communicating with us throughout our four years of experience there so far and our kids have not experienced bullying issues.

I went to John Adams for 6th grade and I hated it! Bullying was a serious problem there that teachers didn't not care about. I got bullied a lot and I would tell the teachers but they pretended they cared but really they didn't. Lots of fights also happen with students and teachers. I always see others not obeying the teachers and literately fighting them. The students there are disrespectful to others and seem that they don't care about learning. There would be so much drama that teachers couldn't handle their own class. I heard John Adams used to be a good school back then but it has changed over the years. Now its just simply awful.

I have gone to john adams for 6th,7th,about 3/4 of 8th grade.I ended up having to leave the school do to my life being threatened and I was being bullied, and in the nurse office about 1 to 2 times every week. The social workers, security guard, and principle said they would do something but never go threw with it,or they wouldn't help me at all. They would have assemblies about how bulling was bad and how you should tell them. But when you told them they won't care. All of the students who go there change and fights happen everyday. One of my best friends ended up betting up a kid that said a joke about my friend's current girlfriend. This school if awful and needs to be called on.

They have a very poor systems for dealing with parent communications. IEPs are not fallowed. Their policy for teacher and student bulling is not taken serious .

I attended JA for 6th and 7th grade and I must say that they gave me the best foundation I could have ever hoped for. The school is clean and the students were respectful and open-minded. The teachers were fun and inviting. We took great field-trips to interesting, exciting destinations. The school provides some interesting classes like Family and Consumer Sciences, Industrial Tech., and Beginning Spanish/Spanish I as well as art classes. I really missed all of that when I moved to Florida to an allegedly "A" school full of thugs and people who just did not care. There's really an atmosphere of scholarship and a focus on "doing your best." I really love this school.
