We have 2 children in there right now. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The principal is very involved, we see her at every event. We've been happy with every teacher our children have had. No complaints.

As the leader of this school, I was extremely concerned when I read this review as this incident was not brought up to my attention, nor my APs. I immediately did some research, and my Media Specialist has no knowledge of this incident, nor do any of my staff. My thinking is this incident happened at another school site in Riverview? I am always available for my parents, students, and staff, so I am asking you to please reach out to me at the school so if this did happen at Riverview Elementary School in Riverview, FL I can rectify the situation. We care for and are here for our children, their safety, happiness, and success. Thank you!

My nephew attends this school, and it has come to my attention that the teachers and staff do not care for their students in the slightest. My nephew returned from school today bawling his eyes out with a soaking wet backpack that wreaked of spoiled milk. The contents inside the backpack had been completely destroyed, and my nephew was mortified. Of course, my sister and I asked him what had happened, and he informed us that another student had taken his possession and dumped it into a trashcan before pouring milk and water within it afterwards. It was brought to the attention of the teachers within the school who simply brushed it off as being above their paygrade. The only thing the teachers seemed to actually care about was one of the library boos inside that they began demanding we pay for if he wishes to advance in his grade. I cannot simply understand how teachers can brush off destruction of another student's property as a situation that they claim "they do not get paid enough for" towards investigating which student had done this or even why we are being told we have to pay for the damaged book. I am not the type of person to assume my nephew can do no wrong, but I highly doubt that he would destroy his bookbag and everything inside as some sort of spite over nothing. The situation has not been cared for and shows a real disrespectful relationship between teachers and students towards bullying within their schools. Children may not be excited to go to school, but they should never be fearful of entering a school. These interactions only show that we are forced to put our children's life's and health into the hands of people who could care less for more than anything besides the coin in their pocket. We are taking further action with this incident to find out what is going on and what is to be done; however, this is a warning to other parents.

HORRIBLE. The principal and AP do not care about your child. They tolerate bullying and make your kid feel like it is their fault.

This school is absolutely wonderful! My daughter just finished 5th grade there this past spring and is SO prepared for Middle School. Her 5th grade teachers were AWESOME!!!! She is doing great in 6th grade! We have nothing but fantastic things to say about this school -Teachers and the administration all work together - And what a strong and supportive PTA!!!! This school is definitely FOR the students!

river city scholars has a lot of behavior issues. staff approach is to not address the behavior. but to over look neg. behavior and hope the child get it together. the resources are good but the behavior is horrible this in my opinion makes it hard for a child to learn and get the help they need

I have lived in this neighborhood for 23 years so my children and my grandchildren have attended or will attend this school. Not only is this a good school but has great resources for the extra things my children have needed speech, dyslexia and their head start programs have all been wonderful. Please know they really have the child's success in mind.
