We absolutely love Ames! You can tell the teachers and staff really care about their job. I feel like they go above and beyond to address issues with students before they become potentially bigger issues in the future. Our kids are always excited to go to school. It seems like a lot of the parents are very involved with the school, which is nice to see. I’m sorry to read that another parent had a bad experience with bullying. Everything I’ve seen, the administration and teachers seem to take things very seriously and address them early on. We love the themed days, spirit wear days and the entire school reading the same book at the same time. It really creates a sense of community among the different grades. The teachers deserve so much credit. It’s not easy these days and they are truly wonderful at this school!

My son who has a IUP in speech has had a hard time since kindergarten with bullying. Thanks to the parents (people of high profession spreading legal matters around) and teachers Gossiping about my personal life. Their kids would repeat these personal things around, my sons now in 5th grade and he was transferred out from Ames to Hollywood after being verbally and physically attacked. He’s the only one that gets disciplined when he sticks up for himself in both Hollywood, and Ames Elementary. Most the teachers grew up in the neighborhood and are very tight with the parents, they also are from this area. The woman in the office, the principals, all have participated in these cliches. Most of the teachers and monitors are nasty, rude, and bias as well. If your not from this area and especially if your black or Hispanic they’ll treat these kids horribly. Discrimination, bias, racist, and bully’s all through out district 96. It’s even been reported about these same issues in the Riverside-Brookfield high school. You think these teachers and people in this area would have more class but their more like high school mean girls.

The best teacher and environment I could have ever hoped for. Everyone should have access to such a wonderful school!
