Lincoln Elementary is an excellent school. The teachers provide a rigorous academic experience for all students, while at the same time providing top-notch SEL programming, which includes the research-based program, Growth Mindset. The SDC classes are well integrated into the school environment, demonstrating a clear commitment to a full inclusion model. The teachers care and are committed to the whole child. Not only are the teachers top notch at all grade levels, but the principal goes above and beyond to support families and is closely involved with the PTA. Research shows that when parents are involved in their student’s education, students perform much better academically. As evidenced by Lincoln’s high test scores, it is clear that that parents are participating. We have been a Lincoln family for 7 years now, and have had many opportunities to serve as volunteers in the school community. Whether it be as a Hands on Art Docent, a Nutrition or Garden Docent, at PTA events, or as one of the Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students). On top of all of this, the parent community is welcoming, inviting and inclusive. We have made many great friends in this community and are so proud to be a part of it!

Our daughter is in kindergarten at Lincoln. We are very happy with the school thus far. She is learning so much every day and has made many new friends. Her teachers are fantastic.

Lincoln Elementary is a great school. My daughter is just finishing her first year there, and her teacher (Mrs. Price) is wonderful! The Kindergarten classes all do the same basic worksheets and homework, designed to bring everyone up to the same level, but the kids have access to Raz Kids (online reading program) and can do reading exercises at the level at which they were assessed. Her teacher was also accommodating about finding ways to enrich her learning, (and presumably that of other kids who were already comfortable with the lessons being presented). Although worksheets are still the meat of what the kids do each day, as is typical these days I think. However, the kids also have garden lessons, art projects, science lessons, and in the spring they had a music teacher teach them songs with accompanying sign language. Physically, the school is well kept up, with nice play areas. My daughter loves her school, and when I recently asked her what she would wish for if she could have three wishes, one wish was that she could go to school on the weekends.

This is by far the worst school in the South Bay. My son was bullied here and then told by the principal and teachers when we went to the office to report it, because of course I was not contacted, that nothing would be done and I was not contacted cause no none saw it. So basically it was my word against theirs. teaching my son that there are no consequences at that school. Which then carried into him needing counseling, which thanks to this genius counselor turned into him throwing a fit during math time so he could sit in her office and play on her phone. Getting into fights and going from a straight A student who volunteered with special needs kids to a complete mess. Never once acting at home the way they were describing him acting at school. I could never get any help from the school instead treating me as if I was doing something wrong. I pulled him from that school and started him at Madison elem down the street with not one single incident from the day he started there! Funny how no one at Lincoln would open there eyes to what I consider a form of abuse to my son to now back to being a straight A student with no issues with classmates. Amazing what a different school and some therapy to help him get over the bullying that no one was ever held accountable for did for my son. He will be starting jr high next year already excepted into the magnet program. I am thankful we were able to overcome what he went thru his 2 years at Lincoln.

Lincoln Elementary is a wonderful school with a forward thinking principal and many great teachers. We have had our children attending Lincoln for two years now and couldn't be happier. The staff really exceeds at everything they do from encouraging students to become better learners to helping students develop an interest in music and science. They also sponsor field trips to colleges which is very smart. The children are already thinking and expecting to attend a university in the future. We are so glad to be a part of this community.

Lincoln Elementary has been called "the NEW best school in Redondo". In the last few years it has been completely overhauled, new young/smart principal, new facilities and the latest technology to relate to the parents and kids. The parent involvement is amazing, the teachers truely take the time to work with every student and Principal Winkler is available not only to the parents but for his staff, and students. I have seen him at the morning drop off personally OPENING car doors for kids being dropped off at the valet station and welcoming them to school. If you want your child to exceed any expectations and be a part of a lively, smart, technologically savvy then Lincoln is where you want to be. ***Also it must be mentioned that on the campus of Lincoln is a BRAND NEW, state of the art Child Development Center (CDC), complete with a/c , heat etc and was part of the new California LEED ( green ) building initiative built in 2011. This is a stunning facility: no old carpet, no moldy walls, no lead paint, or dingy lighting. This is a HUGE plus if your child needs to spend any time in child care after school. 10 of 10 for Lincoln.

The teachers are dedicated and have an excellent reputation, as many parents know several grades' worth by name and can offer detailed positive feedback. Parents are very involved in this community.

Lincoln is a great school. Very community involved. Teachers seem dedicated. A few issues I had with the school though is that the teachers sometimes seemed overwhelmed and unable to focus on individual kids. My child was already reading, writing, adding and subtracting when she went into kindergarten and those talents were not capitalized on. It was like she was almost punished for being smart. What I mean by that is she was forced to wait for the rest of the class to catch up to her level of understanding versus nurturing her advanced level. She was literally bored during the day. Also the PTA meetings are on Thursday afternoons at 2pm? What working parent is able to attend a PTA meeting on a Thursday at 2? I want to be more involved vs just give money but was given the cold shoulder when I asked about the meetings.
