I am a classroom volunteer 4 days a week and see how special this entire staff is on a daily basis.I am so glad my grandson is a part of this environment.

Overall great learning experience for the kids - caring teachers and values of kindness they uphold. Academically they are enabling kids to develop themselves and not spoon feeding them, but the bigger aspect for me is the focus on character development - which is majorly lacking in other schools, and in the world in general. Among the elementary schools around this area (there are quite a few good ones), I would bet on Clara Barton purely for the character development aspect - which will be a differentiating factor when the kids grow up.

The teaching staff is excellent. They mainly focus on discipline and help students in improving behavioral character. At the same time focussing on academic growth in a fun, nurturing, safe and caring environment. I absolutely recommend this school

We've been nothing but impressed with the staff, faculty and facilities. Started in Kindergarten.Teachers have been outstanding in their supportive attitudes, ability to educate and encouraging students to respect each other and themselves.Our son is thriving at Clara Barton and we are so lucky to live in the area so he can attend.

The school strikes the right balance between the academic and extracurricular activities. The school is gated so that brings a sense of overall safety. Quite happy with active involvement of teachers in child’s overall development.

This is an amazing school! Our family has attended several other schools within the Lake Washington School District and we can confidently say Clara Barton is one of the best. In addition to strong academics, there is a unique focus on social & emotional learning. The school has adopted an entire curriculum to systematically teach these skills. This has had a huge impact on helping my children to grow in their self-regulation abilities as well as in their relationship skills. A feeling of inclusion and kindness permeates the school culture and has helped create an emotionally safe environment for my kids. All of my children's teachers have been fantastic. They truly seem to love their jobs and work tirelessly to make school a happy and exciting place to be. They know how to make the curriculum relevant to the kids by both encouraging the struggling students while continuing to challenge the kids that need more. One of my sons has needed extra help in reading and was placed in the Safety Net program. The reading specialists have gone above and beyond to help him. They are communicative with us and have given great insights into how to best help him at home. There is a strong PTSA that supports the school. I have appreciated the involvement of a diverse group of parents. The school on a whole has felt welcoming to parent involvement and really encourages adults to be involved in their children's education. The principal in particular has been wonderful to work with. She seems happy to meet with parents and tries her best to work with families to support the students. Overall this is a high achieving school and has been a wonderful place for my children to learn.
