This school is terrible. I'll be glad when my 8th grader moves on to highschool. The teachers are horrible here. No discipline for children and can't keep the kids under control. My kid can't even focus on class because the teachers let the kids do whatever they want.

My kids have excelled at the school, and have had some great teachers who have done really well given that the community continuously underfunds Ravenna schools by not passing levies. Until just recently the school had been without air conditioning and was miserable in the early fall and late spring, but with some COVID funding to provide better ventilation, they now have better HVAC equipment.It is a mostly low income district, where every child can receive free breakfast and lunch, and it may not have as many activities or experiences as a higher income area (sports, clubs), but the staff does wonderful for these kids with what they are given to work with.One of our children enrolled elsewhere for one year and came back to Ravenna because the grass wasn't actually greener in the other pasture - the other school was strong on marketing to parents but failed to provide what Ravenna did (foreign language, art, and music).

As a just graduated 8th grader, the school has definitely gotten better under new administration. Supportive of LGBTQ+ people as well (queer trans guy here).

Ravenna is a welcome happy medium between a rural school like Southeast which my children attended previously. And Cleveland schools which I attended as a kid. There's nothing wrong with Ravenna School District and a lot that is right.

The absolute Worst school district!! Parents please please dont send your children here!!! Nothing but problems and lack of ANY support!

after ONE year at this school we knew we had to open enroll our child in a different district. The building and amenities are antiquated, the teachers are barely qualified and under experienced and the principal REFUSES to listen to any complaint or suggestions...if you have any alternative, I would highly recommend NOT sending your child to this school..especially if they excel at any subject, since their GT program is a joke and they only seem to focus on the kids that have issues or behavioral problems. I am surprised they even earned 4 stars.
