The staff at LRHS excell year after year to promote accelerated learning environments and inclusive engagement that prepare our children for their ongoing lives after high school. Our kids received outstanding educations in the advanced fundamental disciplines, as well as performance arts, information technology, sports, and business. They are all now with their engineering and masters degrees. Their studies at LRHS was fundamental to this.

My children got to explore several different areas of interest to help them choose areas for their future. The administration tries to accommodate all different types of students, including high performers, low performers, and everything in-between. There are a ton of clubs and activities to get involved in, and any child can find something of interest, if they choose to look. While my children did not use the special education services, other students we know have, with good success.

This school has been a horrible experience so far. I do not recommend the school at all. The school is way overpopulated. Miraculously, the majority of the teachers are pretty good and find a way to focus (bless their hearts). The worst part of the school is the administrative personnel starting at the top with the current principal. Given the job he's done with discipline, and the amount of turn-over on his staff, he is the root cause of the problems at this school and solely to blame. Our student comes home at least twice a week and complains about a fire-drill set off by someone vaping in a bathroom (see Facebook group). This caused my student to be disrupted multiple times during a test. There are frequent fights, many racially motivated, between students in the hallways. None of the administrators attempt to deal with the problems or work with the kids to prevent the problems from occurring at the school. This principal and his assistants take a very reactive approach, choose to take the simple road of serving up swift punishment and hope enough problems are removed from the school so they don't have to deal with them. My student has been bullied at least once by upper class students. There was proof of the bullying, who it was, how and when it was done, the principal and administration knew about it, and it was ignored. The school is very non-inclusive of the wide spectrum of students that attend. The extra curricular activities and clubs at the school support athletes and honors clubs. There is not much else for other students to get involved in or to become part of social groups. They don't have inclusive activities for the majority of students. For example, a section of the student body created a clique group that held an invite only dance at a local country club. This left out 75% of the student body. There are no resources spent on proactive programs that help students become socially integrated and this is equally as important as the academic core. A true leader takes time to proactively get to know their students, facilitate opportunities that bring students together rather than divide them, and support an inclusive environment for all students to engage in a friendly educational atmosphere. In the past, this school has been a shining star in the community it serves, just ask around. The current leadership at this school has completely ruined that reputation by creating a non-inclusive educational environment.

We have had excellent teachers and Leesville prepares students for college. Not happy with how many changes the new principal is making. Hope the school remains strong! Will be much more difficult students to participate in clubs and get the help the need at lunch this year! Wish the new principal would have waited a year to make this change. He has only been there 1 semester!

My experience at Leesville has been amazing. I’ve had great teachers who really care about me. All the students are very respectful and I have never had an issue with anyone. Leesville is a great school and I’ve had an amazing experience.

My son has attended LRHS for the past two years. We are very pleased with the course selection and preparedness for college. The music and art programs at this school are exceptional. Overall we have been very satisfied with the commitment and caliber of the administration and teaching staff.

The school has a great focus on academics; however, the electives available are limited compared to other schools in Wake County. Would like to see more relevant electives in computer science such as Python or Java rather than SAS programming. School also lacks from a vocational & music classes such as auto repair or guitar.

I am very unpleased with this school. My child has an IEP, and the teachers and staff did not help assist him, nor contact me to inform me of his grades. This is not a school you would want your child to attend.

My son just finished his last day of high school today. LRHS has been the best educational experience my family has ever had! We moved to this area from central Canada because of the reputation of this High School. The Principal is outstanding, the Teachers are inspiring and I am thrilled that my daughter is here and that my youngest will arrive in 1 year! LRHS is the best High School in NC!
