This is my child's third year at Green, and it is an amazing school environment for students. The teachers are very supportive of their students, and it is evident they get to know the kids they work with. This is the case for classroom teachers, specialists, world language teachers, and counselors. Ms. Blake has established culture that is student-centered, and we appreciate the opportunities they have given our child. I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Green!*I did not rate the spec ed section, since we have no experience there.

I can’t say enough good things about this elementary school! The environment is warm and welcoming, and it’s clear that the kids genuinely love attending. The Spanish class is a fantastic addition, enriching the curriculum and promoting language skills at an early age.Communication from the teachers is outstanding; they keep parents informed and involved, which fosters a strong school community. It’s evident that the school is fully staffed, and the support for teachers is impressive—this not only enhances the learning experience but also creates a positive atmosphere for both students and educators.Additionally, the school has established great relationships with the local community, which further enriches the students’ educational experience. Overall, this school is a wonderful choice for families looking for a nurturing and supportive environment for their children!

My reviews of Green continuously get removed, so I'll just say "IYKYK". I feel for the teachers at this school because they are consistently filling in for absent and/or disengaged parents. They have to teach to the lowest common denominators and if your child excels academically they will likely be bored. I'm using "excels academically" very loosely here. My daughter was reading short books on her own in 1st grade while there were several kids in her class who were still having trouble identifying the letters of the alphabet. The carpool and pickup lines were absolutely insane. Even as a walker I consistently waited over 15 minutes after the final bell rang for my daughter to be released to me. If you carpool, expect to wait at least 45 minutes every day to pick your child up. We switched to a neighboring school this year and the difference is dramatic. My wife cried when she toured our girls' new school because she was so overjoyed. It just goes to show that no matter how much money the state or local government throws at a low performing school, the community dynamics of that school will always prevail in the long run.

My son attended this school for kindergarten, first and second grade. The teachers and staff were wonderful especially Mrs Eaton (kindergarten) absolutely amazing and we will never forget her. School was big, clean, very nice and had great family events! We loved this school!

We have been at Green Elementary School since 2016 when my son entered kindergarten, and I now have two children at the school. We love Green and have had such great experiences in our years here. The teachers and staff celebrate the diversity of the student population and work hard to make sure each student has opportunities for growth. The leadership and world languages theme has been so great for my kids. They not only learn the language of Mandarin (DAILY), but they also learn about the Chinese culture. Covey's Seven Habits have helped my children become leaders who feel empowered to speak their minds, to work well with others, and to make decisions that benefit themselves as well as their classmates. The full time AIG teacher gives a large group of students access to AIG instruction, which is so valuable. We will be so sad to leave Green when our kids move to middle school, but will be grateful for the amazing experience we've had here.

We have 2 kids at Green - a 2nd grader and 4th grader and they have been at Green since kindergarten. We are magnet students. There were several reasons we selected Green as one of our magnet choices, especially the daily foreign language instruction and diversity. What we didn't know was how inclusive and responsive the staff is. Even with 700 or so students, it seems like every staff member - regardless of grade- knows the students. Any time we have had a concern, we've received a prompt response and remedy. Our students have benefited from AIG enrichment services since kindergarten and has leadership opportunities. It is great to have the 7 Covet habits to use as a framework for discussions or problem solving at home as well. The PTA is involved and open to all parents participating. I think the biggest weakness is the test scores and that was a concern for us even when we were looking at schools 5 years ago. As a parent of a child about to enter kindergarten it seemed like such a big deal and like such an indicator of the type of education my child world receive. Now, I don't worry about that - at every grade level our kids have received phenomenal instruction. The grade level teachers work really well together as a team and the everyone wants all the kids to succeed. Pre-pandemic, I volunteered occasionally in the kids classrooms. Often, I would read to a couple of kids at a time in the kindergarten room. There was one student in particular that was further behind than the others in terms of letter recognition and comprehension but she was very sweet and loved to be read to. One day while I was there the principal came to and pulled the student from the classroom. When I asked the teacher why the teacher let me know that the principal was spending one on one time with struggling students to help them meet the state standards. It really a team effort- lead from the very top - to help each child succeed.

My daughter began attending Green Elementary School in the middle of 3rd grade and started in January of 2020. She was having such an amazing experience, but then we had to move to virtual due to the pandemic. But 4th grade virtual was the best it could be under the circumstances. Now we're back in person, and loving it once again. The staff is so friendly, the culture is completely supportive and inclusive. And she is doing so well academically. The concepts across subjects are well-explained and taught. We love that she is incorporating Spanish daily and learning to be a kind leader in tough situations. We couldn't be more proud to be a part of Green Elementary School.

Our children have both thrived at Green Elementary School (GES). The teachers have been great for the kids, and excellent at communicating with us as parents. I particularly like the application of the Covey 7 Habits as a framework to deal with schoolwork and life. My kids have both received individualized attention from teachers whenever they needed it, and we've never felt anything but welcomed by the school community.

My 3 kids are in kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th grade at Green, and we have been part of the community for four years. I love how intentional the leadership program is. The 7 habits are woven across subjects. I also like the focus on diverse lived experiences and human rights, and my kids love setting goals for personal development through the Positivity Project. We're so grateful for the teachers at Green!

We have been at Green for 3 years. All of the teachers and staff have been fantastic. The library and technology center is excellent (All students have personal access to a range of devices and educational apps). The PTA is engaged and provides a number of events for the students. The school recently received Lighthouse certification and offers leadership opportunities to the students throughout the year. Green is a diverse school that teaches Mandarin and Spanish everyday. The AIG department is amazing, allowing students the flexibility for greater academic challenge starting at the Kindergarten level. The P.E program is holistic including healthy eating practices. There are clubs throughout the year for students to specialize in areas of interest like coding, 3d printing, gardening, etc. We highly recommend Green!

My son has been a student at Green since he was in Kindergarten. Green was our base school and we didn't know much about it going into it but after speaking with friends who were familiar with the school they ALL spoke so highly of it. Now, after being there for 3 years we couldn't agree more with what our friends shared. Green Elementary values ALL students, staff and teachers. Dr. Brown who is the current principal has cultivated an environment that feels like a family with the help of the teachers and staff. This school year and last year they handled Covid-19 so well and we were so impressed. Green Elementary offers so many different ways for the students to grow 2 ways being the 2nd languages (Mandarin and Spanish) and the Lighthouse Club which allows students to take on leadership roles within the school. Green is a school that listens, values ALL and always finds ways in which they can grow. I am grateful that my son is a Magnet student at Green.

I have a second and third grader at Green, and I love this school. The administrators are capable and kind. They really care about EVERY student, and strongly believe that all students deserve the same access to resources, counselor support and extracurricular activities. It's a Title 1 school with a lot of students from lower-income families. I appreciate the diversity in the school and the relationships the students build with people of different backgrounds and life experiences. The DAILY instruction in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese is excellent, and the specials are awesome. Mr. Woody, Mr. Neiger, Ms. Kelley, Ms. Davis and Ms. Tong are some of our favorite teachers/administrators. The Steven Covey leadership curriculum is excellent, and there is a huge focus on kindness. There are three counselors at the school to support the students, and guidance is one of the specials the kids participate in every week, in addition to music, art, media and PE. The building is beautiful and my kids love the playground. Green is a good example of why parents shouldn't judge a school on scores alone. Visit the school! There's a much richer story to tell than test grades.

My child has been attending this school for 3 years and we have always felt welcomed by the staff at the office and the teachers, who are always open to listen and provide different channels of communication. My child is learning a lot through the leadership and languages program. She is getting the tools to be more open and proactive.

Green Elementary provides my son with an optimal learning environment. Students at Green learn how to be leaders, how to take responsibility for their own actions, and how to support each other. With daily foreign language instruction, students at Green will be better prepared to navigate our world. I wouldn't send my son to any other school.

This school has provided my child the opportunity to learn in an environment that represents the community around us. The teachers are supportive and want nothing but the best for the entire student body.

My son went to Green for his Kindergarten year and now first grade. We loved the time in kindergarten. He had such a great teacher and made great progress. My son has been at this school for 4years and it has been an extremely wonderful experience. The staff are ALL loving and caring for them as children as well as super encouraging & promotional of them as individuals. My son is challenged in his learning individually without feeling frustrated or overwhelmed. Lastly, I am so excited about the ease & constant communication that comes home from school keeping parents informed of events & opportunities. They run a pretty consistent & strict yet loving and fair environment. I am also very proud & impressed that the principal & assistant principal are present & involved with activities/programs. I love sharing Dante (my son) with the the Green team and can't wait for my daughter BellaRose to experience the same. Mel Wilson

My son is in K and I find this school to be exceptional in thier teaching and caring. My son has come home and told me what he has learned and the leadership teachings are being instilled in him at such a young age. The teachers are courteous to students but firm. If there is a problem they seem to take care of it. I feel very safe about sending my child to this school. He is learning Mandrian Chinese and being in K that is alot to retain, but he is doing great.
