Our 5 children have all attended Lincoln Academy over the past 10 years. Our oldest daughters, who now attend college say that Lincoln Academy did more to prepare them for their college experience than their high school years. The quality education our children have received is worth the extra driving we have done over the year, as Lincoln is about a 12 minutes extra drive from our neighborhood schools. We made the move to Lincoln Academy when our oldest child was in 6 grade based on Lincoln's superior Math and Language Arts curriculum, small class sizes, teacher child ratio as each elementary class and all junior high core classes have Teaching Assistants, ability grouping in math and the focus on history and science even in elementary school. The additional benefits we've learned as we've been a part of the Lincoln community for the past 10 years are: the incredible lunch program, that our children are known by name by every teacher, the opportunities our children have had to participate in leadership roles, sports and art programs they otherwise would not have had in larger schools. We also love that parent volunteers are welcomed and wanted in the classrooms and school. We are so grateful for how Lincoln has helped each of our children to find their strengths and how prepared they each have been for the next chapter of their educational journey!

We transferred 4 years ago looking for a better community. Right away Lincoln faculty, administration and staff make you feel welcomed. Academics is top notch. Our state tests rank us higher than most other schools. Our sports teams are very successful. Music and theater opportunities are a must for our family and Lincoln provided great options! This is a great fit for our family. Definitely we would recommend anyone looking for a change to check out Lincoln.

We started one daughter at Lincoln because of the lower class sizes and the fact that each teacher has a full time hired TA. Now we have three daughters attending Lincoln and they love the teachers and staff, and absolutely love going to school each day. Great culture.

Three years ago when we moved from one of the top school districts in Northern Virginia with nationally recognized schools and put our son in Lincoln Academy, I thought it would not be possible for him to have the caliber of schooling he'd left. I was wrong!Lincoln Academy is an incredibly impressive educational institution. We have had amazing elementary grade teachers, small class sizes, teaching aides in every class, scholastic expectations which require discipline and hard work, an appropriate focus on emotional intelligence and patriotism, an award winning lunch program, activities that unify the school community and a stellar administration and support staff who really make the school a dream to be a part of.Our son is learning, thriving, and literally jumps out of bed every day to go to his awesome school. We can't wait for him to have the Junior High experience at Lincoln which offers amazing extracuriculars, AP and ACT Prep, Drivers Ed, all on a smaller scale than other local Junior Highs which are over crowded. I love that every teacher will know my son and he won't get lost in the crowd. I am so grateful we are a part of the Lincoln Academy family.

This school has been awesome. They give kids of different learning abilities the attention that they need to succeed. Plenty of extra curricular things to participate in. We love this school.

There are some great teachers here, but the administration is not exactly stellar in being understanding and correctly solving problems. The VP is not a very cordial person or people friendly, she needs to find a different career. I have had 2 friends leave this school because they were ignored and or bullied...this after both were extremely committed volunteers spending countless hours helping in the school. These moms were both very even keeled and not drama mamas by any means and yet their pleas were ignored and their children became 'targets.' It was very sad, so again - there are good teachers here, but the way LA operates is not good. They tend to not listen to parents who have legitimate issues and treat them like they are being difficult. Office staff...ya - like another parent stated - not exactly a cheery bunch, but if you make an effort they can be cordial enough.

My son had an AWESOME MATH EXPERIENCE and science experience at this school. He lived his teachers. He only had his 9th grade here so we can't vouch for more than that but the kids and environment were wonderful. We went here because we parents were so grateful to find somewhere that taught math in a clear way. AF Jr high was committed but very into fuzzy math. When we realized how bad it was we pulled him out. He has excelled ever since. Now he's at UCas and tested out of lots of math classes. Thanks to Lincoln. And to American heritage where he went in 10 th grade. He's excelling in college calculus and scored 31 on the act in math the first try. 34 on practice test

Lincoln is very nice and friendly. I walked in the doors and kids were saying hello, and their student council members are the best I have ever seen.

This is our first year at this school (my daughter is in Kindergarten) and we have been so impressed! Not only does my child love her teachers & classmates, but she is growing academically. What a way to start the school experience!

When we began with this school in 2009 it was exceptional: marvelous teachers, small class sizes, classic and good curriculum, and great attention from principals, teachers and staff. It stayed that way when they expanded this last school year 2012-13. The school could not seem to handle the expansion. Both of my students were without desks for the first 3 weeks of school. The class sizes increased from 22 to 28 students and it seemed that all the new kids had behavioral or learning problems. My 5th grader has 20 percent of her class with these special needs. The teacher can't keep up with the increased number of students and particularly the high number of those with special needs. My exceptional student is bored and frustrated with all the time re-learning. My 1st grader has a similar ratio in her class. She is average, though very well behaved, and is still bored. She is constantly distracted by misbehavior and these same kids are completely out of control at recess pushing down and pulling her and her friends. The school is expanding again for 2013-14 and I am concerned that this problem will just increase.

I love this school. I have taught at and my son has attended this school for the last 4 years. All of the teachers are excellent, and the administration is wonderful. I disagree with the review about nameless faces. I am sure that if it happens to anyone it is purely coincidental. I know each of the teachers and administration do everything possible to create a positive learning environment for their students. Lincoln Academy challenges their students. I know of many students who have gone on to high school grateful for the preparation that Lincoln Academy provided.

I trust Lincoln Academy, their teachers are excellent. they took my strait 'F' student to an almost strait 'A' student. took 2 of my kids from hating to read to the point its hard to get them out of a book. The teachers help build great self esteem.

Lincoln Academy My kids have attended Lincoln Academy since it opened. My 16 year old has moved on to the local High School and just scored 100% on his English CRT's and 97% on his Math CRT's. He has also been taking concurrent enrollment classes as a Sophomore because Lincoln provided an academically challenging curriculum in Jr. High. I have to give credit to Lincoln for preparing him so well for High School.

We started Lincoln Academy this year and have been extremely disappointed. On the first day of school we were lost and asked the principal where to find a classroom. He didn't even take the time to introduce himself to my son or ask his name. At parent teacher conference, only one out of seven teachers knew my sons name. Very little teaching occurs because the teachers have little, if any, behavior management skills. If you are looking for a school where your student is a nameless face in a classroom of chaos, Lincoln is the place!
