Liahona is an LDS based education which allows teachers to teach the true stories of our founding fathers, for example. Students from LPA have consistently higher ACT and AP scores. There is a smaller student body at the school which allows kids much more individual attention from teachers. They have a strict dress code, not uniforms, which stresses adherence to LDS standards as well as kindness and respect for students and faculty, so they do not have problems with bullying and clicks like public schools. It will never be a common core school! They have programs like Drama, Sports, Service Trips, Student Government, Electives, and even Concurrent Enrollment AdvancEd Program to earn college credit! Classes are filmed and can be watched online by students at their convenience. Distance Education is also an option for families that live too far away from the school but still want to 'attend' through watching classes online. Liahona has a 4 day school week to allow students to do homework or more family time. They have a special Youth Conference and a service trip each year. The environment at the school is fabulous and my kids absolutely love it! It is the best school ever!

It is an amazing school and the teachers care and support the students. We are so grateful our son has been given the quality education and a safe environment. I feel like all of the students are safe and cared for. So grateful for the decision we made to enroll our son in this amazing school!

Our children have been attending LPA via distance education for the last two years. Their program is exceptional, as are their mentors. My 8th grade son took the Stanford Achievement Test at the end of the year for 9th grade and scored 90th percentile (for the grade above his level). That gives you an idea of how the courses at LPA compare to the national average. Of course, considerable parental involvement is expected in this education process. However, we credit LPA's mentors for impacting our son's character/attitude in a miraculous way at a very critical age. Our nation needs more schools like LPA that empower youth with an understanding of their unique value and capacity for effecting great good in the world.

I had 4 of my children go through this school to graduation. It was exactly what I had been looking for as a concerned parent. I wanted them to learn patriotism and a love of their country, as well as a sense of their importance in contributing to society as a whole through the Gospel and their obligations to their country. They loved school. They came home and discussed what they had learned over the dinner table. They loved the teachers. And they felt that the teachers really cared about them. I loved that is was a small community so that every child felt they were needed and important. Those running the school are passionate about teaching our children, this is not just a business to them. I would highly recommend this institution to anyone, and I have.

Fantastic LDS based High School. They are number 2 in the state in ACT scores and close to being numero uno. Fantastic teachers and the administration really knows how to relate to students. They are extremely flexible with getting the right education for you children and a great camaraderie between students. This is the best kept secret of LDS based High school and Elementary education in Utah.

I was extremely pleased with the education at Liahona. The science, history, and english programs are excellent. The school is small, but is getting some great after-school programs. Their basketball team is doing very well. And the leadership and quality of teachers is great. I have been nothing but pleased. For a faith-based program, I think they are doing a great job.
