We so far had one kid in 2nd grade in Anderson. The almost new graduated teacher works awesome and attends every student invitation event! They School has some disciplines to follow but that’s meeting what us two as parent’s expectations.Quite some volunteers opportunities for us to get involved. Big thanks to both school and the PTA volunteers! Greetings Anderson Nation!

The Anderson ES used to be such a great school with nice and friendly staff and teachers, but sadly not anymore. The communication between parents and classroom teachers have not gotten any better even before the pandemic started. Now that we no longer are required to wear masks at school anymore, but there are so many ongoing rules that we parents are treated like devils or germs having to wait outside for our child to search for lost items at school even after school hours. Right now, I personally feel not welcomed every time if I need to ask for some help at the front desk area. My husband I both felt the old Anderson was so much better in providing positive feedbacks to our parents and we both felt we got greater responses from the classroom teachers and even the principal. There were times we parents were not notified about how to get hold of the substitute teachers for weeks long toward the end of the school year. In addition, the front desk person even commented something to my face that your child never paid attention or never listened just because I questioned how come the lunch bag was still sitting in the basket area after the child was dismissed on the last day of the school. It is so sad that the staff is not friendly to parents now.

My family currently has 2 children attending this school. We have been more than happy with almost everything. However, there is one issue and it is one of the kindergarten teachers. Hopefully my younger kids don’t have her as a teacher in the future. I would honestly remove my kids from her class it is that bad.

If you like your kids doing worksheets and "stamina" tests...then this is the school for you. Why do they need to practice stamina. All this school cares about is STAAR. Principal is ineffective and rude.

Anderson school is having a good curriculum. The Kindergarten curriculum is really great. Ms. Arend taught the basics really well. Coach Addis (PE Teacher), Ms. Jones (Art Teacher), Ms. Scotts (Musci Teacher), Ms. Del Hierro (Principal), Ms. McCord (Assistant Principal), and Ms. Kyser (Counselor) takes very good care of every kid. Children are taught concepts with tools so that kids remember them always. Its been 2 years since my daughter is going to this school and her reading and mathematical skills have improved a lot. Teaching and support staff are kind and supportive to kids. I highly recommend this school.

I have never had such a great experience with schools until Anderson. Anderson has been amazing for my step-children and our entire family. The entire staff and teachers always welcomed us and treated us like family! Our blended family is difficult of course, but they never failed on keeping every parent in the loop and not treating us as the complicated family we are. You can feel the camaraderie between every adult in the building. Its such an amazing place! I would recommend until no end!

We moved from Virginia to Plano because of the good school rating. I have to say Anderson did not disappoint. They have a very positive approach that is easily seen and felt. When it is time to go to class a bell does not signal them, positive upbeat music plays letting them know it is time to get to class. The first year we were there "Its going to be the best day of your life" was the song. It really sets the spirit of the day. The school is firm but fair, their assemblies are full of team spirit, say the pledge of Allegiance to the USA and then to the state of Texas they even sing America the Beautiful, it is so patriotic and wonderful. They teach manners that are used now and through their adult years. When my children needed tutoring in math it was provided both before and after school at no additional charge. This is a school that cares. My daughter had the best two years of school with her teachers, Ms. Hafner and Ms. Winter, both standouts. My son's team were equally talented and caring. The staff, students and parents are nice and friendly. I am living in North Carolina now, but still keep in touch with the lovely friends I made at Anderson. This is a school with heart. Both of my children adored their teachers, I feel blessed to have been a part of the Anderson team.Marcia Secrest

We have only been attending Anderson for 2 years now kinder and 1st grade and I must say that I am very very pleased with my child's education. My child loves to learn now and can't wait to do the homework and continue learning at home. At the beginning I thought I would have a real problem getting her to focus in school but both her kinder and 1st grade teachers have woken something up in her that I couldn't do and she is thriving in all areas. That tells me that the teachers at Anderson are doing something right, which means that they must have pretty good leadership.

When my daughter transferred to this school the first year she really began to excel. The second year I was less than impressed with her instructor and she is not fairing as well. Overall it seems like a decent school but the communication COULD NOT BE WORSE!!!! When they need money or are doing a fundraiser you will be notified 50x's and nice and early. If there is a school play, or your child is having trouble learning in class you won't hear a dang word.....My biggest gripe would be very poor communication from the school and teachers. It really depends on which teacher you get here, some of them are very good at what they do and some......not so much.

Anderson has always had good principals, however I have to agree with the parent who was upset because a group of students was being punished for the actions of a few. This is a reflection of the young and inexperienced teaching staff. Many of the people say it is a great school, but failed to list what really makes it great. Yes the teachers can be nice and smile every morning, but that doesn't make them great teachers. I have to say in my 5 years being an Anderson parent I have yet to see an experienced, concerned teacher with an interest in learning ability and environment. The teachers at Anderson only come to work. They are neither leaders nor teachers. Most of the them are very young, inexperienced, insensitive and care for nothing other than a paycheck. For example, children who are bullied are being ignored and bullied (spoken to in a mean tone) by the teachers, not all children receive the amount of attention needed to succeed, they speak to children in a demeaning manner, they allow children to behave badly and disturb the learning of others, if a teacher doesn't like the parent then she treats the child unfairly in class and the teachers have poor follow-up to parents.
