Excellent experience at this Elementary School in our neighborhood. Teacher retention is the best I have seen, and that is a strong barometer of leadership support for administration. Parents are extremely involved, and the PTA is active . Regarding my 5-rating on Safety, the entire PISD on-site response to safety measures through COVID and concerns of school security have been decisive and strong - including a standing officer on site at all times, however this school is particularly fortunate to be across the pond from the Police Station, a safety fact that was a driver for our selection of a home in this neighborhood.

The second grade here is horrible. Two of my kids went here for second grade, both of us (parents and kids) were suffering. The others are good. If you can, avoid second grade here.

My 8 year old sone is going to this school since 2 years and he loves this school, the teachers and the extra activities provided every now and then and thats all matters to us. But i would be more than happy if this school also provides learning of any other language such as Spanish.

My child went to Mathews Elementary. She complained to me that a teacher always followed her around just because her English wasn't very good. She told me she couldn't be independent, and that the school underestimated her talent.

My daughter has been attending Mathews Elementary for the past 3 years. This is an excellent school with amazing teachers. The school offers a lot of advanced programs that are academically challenging. The PTA is very strong and provides extra-curricular activities for students all year round.

Excellent school with great teachers. The school has a strong reputation for higher level learning and is considered one of the top elementary schools in Plano.

This school used to be one of the best till the new Principal came, she is uninvolved, doesn't know all the students, very indifferent, academic progress has slowed and there is not enough motivation from her. She hardly ever visits the classrooms, and is mostly missing from the campus. Teachers on the other hand, are wonderful, highly qualified and very caring. A lot of involvement and help from parents. The rest of the staff is great. If only, there was a better manager in a good Principal like the one before her !

Mathews is a fantastic school with amazing teachers! The staff really cares about the students. The parents are very involved. The students are challenged academically, and there are a number of advanced programs and afterschool activities to enhance the children's education.

We love our school because of the caring and nurturing staff. The edcuation program stimulates each child to reach their individual potential.

Mathews Elementary School is a great school. Both my daughters attended and one of my daughters was diagnosed with dyslexia. Teachers were very quick to identify the problem and set forth a plan for the entire 5 years. Through this program, my daughter learned different techniques to obtain the material being taught in class and prepared her for Middle/High School.
