I give this school 0 stars! I am very disappointed in the Character and environment of this school Central Elementary. My child came to the school excited, ready to meet new friends, and learn new things. As the school year continued, I noticed my child becoming withdrawn coming home everyday stating "I hate this school, teachers are mean, the students in my class call me names," the homeroom teacher yells at the class, purposely grading incorrectly *marking correct answers as incorrect* encouraging bullying, racial words used by the students and them not being reprimanded or corrected. Teachers inappropriately discussing students, calling them "dumb" or "too much to handle" and being sent to another teachers class or to the office to sit until school is over. I brought the above issues to the Principal and was dismissed and patted on the back, Nothing was addressed she then attempted to put the blame on my child and insinuate that he had ADHD. But I was already informed previously of her tactics and responded with a withdrawal. This school needs diversity training, anti-bullying training. There are so many current and previous parents of a certain demographic that have complained to the school reps, and school board and nothing has been done, they were either dismissed or their child attending this school received worse treatment. I had to enroll my child in another school due to fear of retaliation. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL until the necessary trainings, and hiring of teachers and staff from a diverse background is integrated with the schools environment and culture.

Central Elementary has a great mentality when it comes to teaching kids to do the right thing. The environment is also uplifting and it's nice to see teachers and parents working together. With that being said, I don't advise this school if your child has any mental health issues. They don't have a properly trained counselor or the availability to assist you in meeting your child's needs. There's also a lack for proper mediation when it comes to bullying.

Central is amazing. My son loves going to school and is challenged everyday. As a teacher myself, I can be very picky, and I love the education he is receiving. Every staff member is kind and helpful, I feel very lucky.

I've taught at Central for many years and I can honestly say it is one of the best schools you will find. The staff is kind and truly cares about the children. While we aren't perfect we are always looking for ways to improve.

Central is a great school with great families, students, and staff. Children enjoy learning and the staff enjoy the children.

The students, staff and parents all work together to make Central an amazing school where kids can learn, have fun and build relationships.

Last year my son attended Central for first grade. I was very unimpressed. As someone new coming into the district I thought the PTA/staff were cliquish and unhelpful. His teacher seemed uninterested and completely focused on just moving the kids through the system. At conferences I got form letters that said "she" instead of "he". Her style of discipline/teaching seemed to be focused on what made the day easier for her instead of what was in the best interest and education/growth of my child (my mother was a elem school teacher so I am well aware of what they have to deal with). She also tried to start the ball rolling on a ADHD label - which is complete b.s (I never heard a word of this from his Kindergarten teacher or in the 4 years he attended daycare/preschool, or his current teacher). He was coming home miserable, saying he hated school, hated reading etc. I actually removed him in Feb and homeschooled him the rest of the year. My suspicions/opinions have been confirmed when we moved to the Brentwood district this year and he is having none of the problems he had in his previous classroom, is making straight As, loves school, and is reading way above grade level.
