We just visited White Oak Elementary school in Avon, IN for our neighbors daughters' preschool admission. Stephanie, the teacher who was supposed to talk to us did not even bother to talk to us or even ask us to wait. We waited nearly for 45 minutes to even be recognized that we were there. She spoke to all parents before us and two families after us but did not care to talk to us or turn to our sides. Finally, another teacher came in and found that we were still waiting to talk to Stephanie, only then Stephanie decided to talk to us. Oh, when she was supposed to be talking to us, she decides to entertain two other kids and not bother to fully listen to what we are asking. This was a special back to school night for parents. Guess what, I will publish this review in as many places as I can to ensure I stop new students going to this school. Gone are the days where teachers actually listened and educated. A very few good teachers also get bad names because of worst teachers like Stephanie.

This school has a phenomenal preschool & developmental preschool program that gets children ready for the next 5 grades in the school. My son was reading at the end of one year in preschool and has performed well ever since. They have a strong belief in teaching and embodying good social emotional behavior. One of their mottos is, "Treat people right [and] do the right thing."

White Oakes is a great school! The staff is very caring and helpful with each child. They were ranked in the top ten percent of IN schools this year. My children love the programs that they have, such as art class. The school also has alot of extra events for students and parents, such as reading night and movie nights each year.

Teachers are all great! They care about the kids. Principal ehhh. Dont like how they push so hard for the testing and for a good month the kids only learn about what they will be tested on.

My child has been involved in the advanced program and seems to be benefiting from it. He is also being encouraged to exceed his personal limitations. The only improvement that could be made is for the schools to stop teaching children to pass the tests that score the school worthiness, and start teaching children applicable skills.

My son went to this school from '05-'09. It is a great school. The teachers are amazing, helpful & concerned. They really look to help parents get involved and stay current on your child's progress.
