The entire staff is dedicated to helping students learn. Both of our boys have been so happy here and continue to be successful in their academics. We are very thankful for the hard-working teachers and all of their efforts in helping our boys thrive.

The teachers at Orangewood are dedicated and hardworking. They go above and beyond to support students at their academic levels and support their individual personalities and learning styles. Teachers communicate regularly with one another and parents. Teachers regularly engage in data discussions to promote student success. Additionally, there are events for students to participate in during and after school.

We have been a part of the Orangewood family since 2017! All three of my children attend Orangewood. We have had amazing experiences with wonderful teachers. The culture at Orangewood is welcoming, warm, friendly and caring. A true environment to encourage learning at its best! Orangewood has a good diversity of students, which when selecting a school was very important to me. This is an A school and has been for the last couple years! Keep it up Orangewood admin, staff and kids!

The teachers and administrators care about the children. They go above and beyond to help them all excel. A cross section of many social, economic and ethnic backgrounds that are all treated equal, with respect and compassion!

My kids have gone here for 2 years and loved it. After years of problems they were finally able to help my son with his learning disabilities, we were so excited for him to start getting the correct help at the end of the 2014-2015 school year only to be told the principal wouldn't reapprove our out of district enrollment (even though we did everything we needed to) they also would not even consider an appeal so after finally getting my son to where he needs to be, they just dropped him. The teachers and counselors are great though.

I have 3 children enrolled in this school right now and can only think of great things to say. As hinted by other reviews Mr. Vasey in the 6th grade is an exceptional shining spot for the school. I've had the pleasure of assisting him with the basketball team this year and if all I had to measure him by was his effort put forth there he would easily be counted as an amazing teacher with nothing but the best interests of his students at heart. I don't want to downplay the great group of other teachers my family has had the benefit of working with over the last few years as every grade from k-5 that my children have gone through has been awesome. If you care enough to involve yourself the school is there to support you and your children.

All of my kids went here and they all loved it. They have amazing teacher that do use all of the resources. Parents are very involved and care about all the kids. Their is a couple of parents that are judgmental and try to ruin things for kids they don't like, but these people are everywhere. The teachers are amazing and care lots about the students, some of them teach life skills along with learning, things that they will definitely use in the future. The sixth grade teacher Mr. Vasey is amazing he cares so much for the kids and tries to help them in many ways. He does not only care about scores but cares about the kids as people and treats them that way as well. The teachers that stand by him are amazing and the parents as well. I love this school and would never imagine sending my kids elsewhere. My oldest just graduated from the and is now in high school where he is continuing doing an amazing job and it all started at orangewood.

As a newly designated public charter school, the WESD is being visionary in looking for ways to bring additional resources to a school that excels in bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics to every student at Orangewood. There are numerous opportunities for parents to be involved and parent involvement is proven to be a key factor in student success. It makes no difference what your socioeconomic status is, parents who get involved in their children's education WILL have successful students. The teachers and administration at Orangewood highly support this philosophy.

This school has abundant resources but they refuse to use their resources in ways that benefit academic learning. They refuse to fire teachers that won't do their job or the ones that should have retired long ago.If you don t know the process of getting your child the help they need than they wont get it.The PTA is lead by the most well off parents, who get the over all benefit.Take note, the children of the Teachers & PTA are always chosen first for any extra activity or award. The school is practically run by these parents. They have a backwoods inner circle going on & the school board is in on it.Several reported issues and not one call back, concealing an ill employees ability to do her job,Teachers who sit at their desks on phones, unfair discipline of students, unwillingness to correct inappropriate actions of Teachers. The children of Orangewood are a reflection of those they are around and learning from, We are all failing! Frustration is high, grades & hopes are low.We need a new inner circle who's interests are for all! We need an acting school board thats not worried about who knows who.

Test scores are greatly influenced by the socio-economic background of the children, and this is not a mega-buck, upper crust neighborhood - it is working-class (but certainly not low-class) demographic. The student body is full of prideful, enthusiastic children. The teachers reflect that as well - they are caring, attentive, and challenge the students to achieve their personal best every day. I will gladly continue to send my kids here, to a professional, dedicated staff that teaches kids how to succeed in LIFE rather than on TESTS - there s more to it than the numbers.

My kids really like the school. I am not happy with the rating, but my kids have done really well at this school. The Drama productions are fabulous. The music programs are also pretty great, but the manners of the population (talking, making calls, texting) ruin the great performances. The cafetorium is always crowded. Otherwise, there are many enriching programs and the school offers many eductional opportunities for all grade levels, particularly in the sixth grade. The teachers that team with Mr. Vasey are amazing.

the teachers...the principal...the community. for a school in a large city, it sure has a feel of a small community - one that works together and supports each other.

Orangewood has created a safe environment for students to grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. The students are cared about as people. I love being a part of our school!!
