My oldest daughter has attended Vistancia Elementary since Kindergarten, when we started at the school things were great through 4th grade then slowly got worse. The upper grade levels are a mess. There have been several teachers leave the school multiple years in a row and teachers that are teaching above the grade level or not what is on the tests and expecting the kids to watch online videos after school to get the material. I’m not in favor of this because my kids both have after school activities. Their whole lives should not evolve around school. There are teacher bullies in the upper grade levels as well, both w the students and other staff. This is the last year my youngest will be attending this school we will be switching districts next year. K-3 is where they have the best teachers IMO. The 19:1 teacher ratio is complete nonsense my daughter has 30 kids in her class and it’s been this way for years. Do your research because a lot of the info here is incorrect.

Vistancia has been an excellent school for my three children who are all at different places academically. My gifted student was pushed to meet his highest potential and Vistancia made his transition into high school one where he was confident and still felt that he could look back at Vistancia and know that his teachers and principal were cheering him on. In fact, I went in recently to pick up my two younger ones and the office immediately asked about my older son and how he was doing. Within a few weeks, he stopped by and was greeted with open arms by Mrs. Bennett. If your child is on an iep they are also in great hands. Coming from the neighbor school which was a horrific experience for my children to Vistancia-what a night and day difference! The teachers care and are there for the students. Mrs. Bennett is a class act and a very present administrator. She is out front nearly every morning rain or shine greeting families. I could not recommend this school more!

My children have thrived at this school! We have had excellent teachers and the admin has been so supportive. Our children love going to school each day!

If your child is not academically advanced and you want their days wasted with mundane curriculum then this is the school. No emphasis put towards academically advanced students and many teachers just there for a paycheck. Many students with behavioral problems that interrupt the rest of the students’ learning.

My son has loved going here! I had one problem with the teacher and the female assistant principal was extremely nice as helpful! She helped me resolve the problem quickly and my son has never been happier! Best school he’s ever been to so far!

We moved to this community with a lot of hope for Vistancia. It was very disappointing and we won’t be staying at this school long. Sadly, more and more parents who we have spoken with agree. It’s a shame especially since this is a beautiful school inside a beautiful community. However, looks aren’t everything. To be great takes work and unfortunately this school is only as strong as it’s weakest link.

Horrible. Its a nice area you think with all the money moving in the would trying to make it the best school and care about the kids future not the numbers. Read reviews or look at other schools. Do be fooled.

Vistancia elementary is a wonderful school filled with teachers committed to excellence! The level of work that my 1st grader is completing is quality and her reading and math is improving daily. She LOVES to go to school and loves having special areas to go to on a rotation. The administration is top notch and we are so proud that this amazing public school is in North Peoria! No need for charter or private schools when this accredited school is right here in PUSD!

I love the Teachers, Admin and Staff at Vistancia! They go out of their way to help the students achieve success in every aspect of the learning experience. My children's teachers are willing to differentiate instruction and give individual attention when needed. They go above and beyond what a teacher is asked to do in order to ensure our children get the best education! If you get a chance, thank a teacher for all their hard work and dedication!

This school is amazing. The faculty and staff demonstrate hearts of service to the community and the families. They are about much more than teaching. They care about the whole setting. I am a community member, the pastor of the church that rents on Sundays, and I am always treated with respect and courtesy, and not because I am a pastor. Even when I encounter staff or teachers who do not know who I am, they are respectful and go out of their way to help. The overall attitude of a team that works well together is evident and the results are happy families and children well taught and greatly encouraged and built up. The sense of, "You can do this and we're with you," is powerful. Well done, Vistancia! Rev. Valerie Fairchild

Our kids have been treated with great respect throughout their educations (both since K and now going into 2nd and 4th.) The community involvement with the school is quite good, and there really seems to be a flow between the teachers, admin, parents and kids.

Oh, what a wonderful school. After researching many of the nearby charter schools in my area, and talking with several parents who had children at Candeo or Great Hearts and moved them BACK to Vistancia, they all said the same thing... "the grass isn't always greener on the other side." We have been so happy with Vistancia. My child left Kindergarten reading chapter books with ease. She was in the HEAT program for Kinder and the teacher did an excellent job of not utilizing a "one size fits all" approach, but rather tailored the curriculum to each child's needs. The HEAT program was created by the principal as a way to accommodate advanced students while still having a very limited budget. In talking with parents who have children at other district/charter schools, my child is learning at least as much, if not more, in her HEAT class. I am so grateful for this program that accommodates children who need to be challenged more than others. Love all the specials and the breadth of extracurricular offerings. Glad I didn't succumb to the peer pressure to drive further every day to take her to a charter school. Vistancia is an excellent school within walking distance!

No school can be perfect but Vistancia comes pretty darn close. I have two kids in the school for a combined total of 9 years of attendance and we have yet to have an experience with a teacher or the administration that couldn't be dealt with by positive and constructive communication. The teachers and staff at this school go above and beyond and truly contribute to a positive environment that flows through to the community. We have exceptional, very involved parents which are supportive of the school's efforts and mission and work together with the staff at Vistancia to really demand and provide an exceptional environment. Our PTO is second to none. Serving on the PTO is a thankless, time consuming position that you only do because you care - nobody gets paid - but those who don't serve like to complain about those of us who do. We expect the best at Vistancia and we get it. It's not perfect by any means but I'm proud that my children attend Vistancia Elementary and I would recommend this school and this community to those who want to positively contribute, become a part of the solution instead of the problem, and be a part of a community that is truly a community.

Our daughter attended Vistancia Elementary 1012-2013. She had been attending a private Montessori school in Atlanta, GA that was also terrific. Our daughter could not have had a better first grade year. Mrs. MacDonald the 1st grade HEAT teacher is truly outstanding. Our daughter learned a tremendous amount. The staff was friendly and accessible. Also they put on a Veteran's day that is not to be believed. Very appreciative that our daughter hd such a great experience.

Just read that last review and I had to laugh... EVERY school in Arizona is like that. Funding has been slashed and they can no longer get by with what the legislature pays. I am a new parent to this school, moved my children here on a variance from a school in the Dysart district (which was aweful!). We couldn't be happier. Staff is friendly and professional. Community and parent involvement is encouraged. My child is already learning a lot and it's just the first few weeks of school. I have seen what a bad school looks like, and believe me, this place might as well be Mayberry!
