This school drains your students the teachers all they do is yell at us we don’t have support from them. The “popular kids” they get always with everything yes I am one of them but I’m not like them they do a lot of stuff to make people feel bad about them. Such as even body shaming and using harmful words. Some teachers are really nice but another’s are really not. None of us get support during missing work to catch up you have to ask for it. It genuinely so hard in this school and every student can agree but they are so scared to tell the teachers. Shouldn’t we feel safe to talk to them? We need a safe space and that’s the last thing they are giving us. I do not recommend unless you want your kid suffering from insecurity, anxiety, social anxiety, bullying.depression, and a lot more stuff.

The experience at this school is okay. Teaching and the learning experience is also fine. I would say the tests and quizzes are about average. In the hallways safety is an issue currently, violence, discrimination, and racism is common in the hallways. In classrooms, most of my classes are getting in a lot of trouble and teaching also affects the learning experience. In hallways, the administration also tries to stop students from getting in trouble but then when they stop them, there´s more people being troublemakers. Overall, the school is okay!

Everything has been excellent. Parents are involved. Good administration, teachers are great! I attended Severna Park Schools, and for the most part I prefer the schools in Pasadena.....so much so, i am waiting to move back to Severna park until after my son is in college.

Socially, emotionally, and behaviorally I feel George Fox did very well with developing it's students. They really try to make everyone feel welcome and encourage friendships. Academically, I feel like they are average when it comes to preparing students for exams and low average in the area of homework. Middle school is suppose to set these kids up for high school, and my daughter was shocked this year in 9th grade with the amount of homework she has to do. It took her a while to adjust to the amount of homework and how to manage her schedule to make sure she gets it done.

My oldest is in his second year and we are happy. He is able to take some advanced classes and participate in after school clubs (with a bus!). The teachers are good at communicating expectations and assignments through use of apps, emails, flyers, social media... there is a way for each person!

I would rate it a 4.5 overall. They do need some upgrades in the school, but that is the county and much needed funding. The kids are just that, kids. Some are nasty, others sweet and kind each with their own individual personality. The teachers, for the most part, work hard to help them all. The class sizes are reasonable and school is kept very clean.

This school has a lot to improve on, "popular kids" always picking on IEP kids and the iep kids get in trouble for no reason, try not to bring your kid here.

I cannot wait for my daughter to be done with the school. I have had numerous issues with the teachers. For example, grades marked as failing but when I question the teacher I was told, "Its possible she turned it in, my desk is a mess." The rules to use the bathroom are ridiculous. My daughter has gone into class before the bell has rang, asked to use the restroom and is told by the teacher, "I cant make you late". She proceeds to use the bathroom and when she returns is marked late. Even tho she was already in the class BEFORE the bell and asked to use the restroom. I have sent letters in the beginning of the year stating the days that she would miss school and she is still marked down as unexcused, I have to call and send in ANOTHER letter because the attendance person doesn't have time to look thru the file. The gym teacher did not require a note to miss gym when my daughter fractured her ankle but required one for her to return to gym. I had to provide a doctors note in order for her to carry a water bottle. Not only does the note need to be on file, she needs a copy of it, which wasn't told to me until the teacher told her. The principal calls every WEEK with a weekly update, followed by a email. I don't receive a weekly call/email from my son's elementary school, why do I need it from a middle school? At one point are the kids going to be responsible? The grades are not updated online in a timely manner and interim's are sent home with grades that haven't changed in over a month.

The worse ever!! There is little to no communication from teachers regarding mandatory after school events like the fashion show. Only 2 weeks notice and the threat to fail the students if they can't come or make them write a 13 page essay. The school does not do anything to control and change bad behavior. The "popular kids" get away with everything and constantly disrupt class with no consequences. You hear all sorts of foul language if you walk down the halls, students have phones out all time, and frequent fights. I would highly recommend doing anything possible to avoid this school.

I love the principal, administrative staff and teachers, they are wonderful! My son has had issues with bullying, but they have been on top of it.

Overall, this is a nice school with nice students, etc. No complaints here. Good choice.

I would have given the school a grade of good, but I am very disappointed in the Principal. With my daughter coming from High Point, where Mr. Merritt was a constant presence and knew every child by name, I may be biased and expecting more than the norm. My daughter is in all of the advanced classes and loves her teachers. Overall, if the Principal and the rest of the administrators would get out of their offices and interact with the children, the school has the potential to be a great school. I have not seen the Principal at any of the School Fundraisers and he skipped the 6th grade orientation this year (2015) that we attended as my son will attend next year.

This school has a lot to improve on. A LOT of bad behavior and little control over students. There's a lot that goes and the administrators pay little attention to it. There's a fight at least once every few days, At least in the 8th grade.

I am very disappointed with my daughter's learning experience at George Fox Middle. Most of her teachers, with the exception of two, had poor classroom management, hardly assigned thought provoking assignments, hardly gave homework. Lots of poor behavior at the school.

My thoughts exactly! And why was the building so dark! On a good note my kid had a fantastic week and loves all of her teachers!

Im not sure how to feel about the Principal being a no show for the 6th grade orientation tonight. If he avoids the easy stuff how does he handle the difficult task of being a leader at a school with a less then perfect reputation??

Nice school, teachers avail themselves to the students. Fox Paws are great incentives. No bullying issues. My children are happy there, and have learned alot from science and math teachers.

I had fun attending the school. Only if I spent one year there. The teachers were horriable. And the school is in the ghetto. That was one of my best years

My child is a 6th grader. He was nervous about George Fox because of bad rumors. We have learned that those are just rumors! My child's teachers are caring & helpful, and want my child to succeed. They give encouragement and recognition every day. Despite the school's poor standardized test grades on average, my child is always above average compared to county and state, so regardless of the school"s performance as a whole, my child is excelling and thats all I care about! The new principal is caring and wants to make it a great school. After school clubs, after school help and activiity buses are a great benefit. So far so good at George Fox. Don't believe all the bad rumors!
