Our experience with AVLA began with high hopes when my child started in kindergarten. The early years were promising, with a great curriculum and exceptional teachers like Mrs. Pickus and Mrs. Rutherford. However, by third grade, we noticed a decline. Teachers like Ms. Emerson and Mrs. Sharts struggled with time management and support. By seventh grade, the quality of education had plummeted, with no textbooks, just worksheets, and dismissive responses from the staff. Safety concerns at the school site added to our frustration. We've since moved to a real homeschool program where my child is finally receiving the education and support he deserves. AVLA, once promising, has declined drastically and is no longer a school I would recommend.

The worst school ever wouldn’t recommend this school under any circumstances poor quality with help your child when they have a learning disability and u try to explain it to your teacher that your child can’t work efficiently and can’t keep up the teacher fail them and still give me hard work to do when they can’t even do the work..

I have more than one child that currently attends the school. We've had a pretty good experience with it, but are a little disappointed in it academically. I have been homeschooling my kids since they were of school age and when we found AVLA, it was a blessing because it really helped out getting the textbooks as we were never really able to afford them. My children's teachers and the office staff have always been friendly and helpful to us. The school can be flexible, there are some choices currently that you can choose from for math, but not for language. I feel like the curriculum needs to be more flexible for homeschooling because the kids are mostly given public school textbooks that just don't always work at home. I like the fact that all work is turned in, not just a few samples as it made my kids feel like the day to day work was important and so they were more motivated to do it. I feel like organization wise, they could do a lot better and that the pacing guides/syllabi were not always up to date so that was somewhat frustrating. The school is now in Lancaster and the facility is very nice, clean, and friendly so I like that.

Antelope Valley Academy seriosly is working for my girls(Indep.Study) The teachers are attentive and caring. Most importantly my girls work on their own pace and they are NOT bullied or cyber attacked by naive, insensitive students. They are not criticized for what they wear or judged on looks. This method has been truly a blessing for me!! Happy students= Happy Mom!!!

Our children were attending this school but every year they have less to offer and they cut programs. The office staff can be rude and unknowlegeable. The teachers you meet with are good, but the school as a whole is lacking. There are other choices in this valley, thankfully.

I had a great experience with my son at this school. He was able to raise his grades and the tutors were very helpful to him when he needed it for math. Mrs.K. Walters was very kind to my son and I appreciated her patience with him and the positive outlook on his success.
