This is absolutely the worst school I’ve ever had a child attend. My child was constantly bullied and nothing was done about it. However A child that runs up and hits my child in the back really hard and ran straight to the teacher and said my child hit him. The boy that was doing the bullying finally admitted that he hit my child… however, it shows the my child was suspended 3 days because of this and that absolutely never happened. They have no record of why this is on my child’s permanent record and the Principal will not remove it. I haven’t spoken to the Superintendent and basically agrees w the Principal. There teacher however has the same memory that I have. There is nothing that the school can provide me with whatsoever showing that this happened except for to tell me that if it’s in the computer, then it happened it’s the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard.. is unfortunate because the school does have some good teachers, but they get no support from the principal at all.

We had a horrible experience with this school. I have two children that have gone to Flint Hill for the past 3 years. They transferred from a Walton County School, and it has been nothing but problems. The majority of the staff is rude. The number of fights and bullying that have gone on in this school over the last few years with no attention from the administration has been absurd. There is NO communication from the teachers on what is going on with your child in the classroom. The school rarely sends out information about important events. Often times, we would find out last minute about an important event (like an awards ceremony.) I made the decision to buy a new home in a new district just so I could get my children out of this school.

This is the worst elementary school in Covington the administrators don't care how a child is treated by other kids but when the child acts out or defend herself they'll suspend the child. Certain kids can bring their phones nothing is said, my child is being bullied nothing has been done about it the principal always says I'm going to check into it, I'll call you back and let you know!! I call leave messages and she doesn't return my calls majority of the kids are brown kids and from what I see they don't care whatever happens.

My child will not be attending this school next year she has been bullied & punched in the eye. I still haven’t heard anything back from the school about the situation. Not only that her academics have suffered significantly since she been going to this school. She have not liked go since the first day.

FHES continues to put students first during the pandemic. They have gone above and beyond for the kids.

    3. Need more communication and support from teachers. Need more enthusiasm from them all! More community involvement and social media

My daughter was bullied at school and slap in the face by a boy. I spoke with the principal who said he was disciplined but doesn't consider it bullying "since there's no written record of repeat bullying". A girl (black) called my daughter (white) the "n" word , when my daughter told the teacher, her response was "I don't know why she would call you that".... and nothing was done. So apparently it's ok to say that word in her class .

don't know how to put this in better ways. I know some parents are satisfied and it's maybe they had good hr teachers or have average background... I do not know but I hope it was the same for my kid too.My kid ended up homeschooling from the last semester of 4th grade because we've had bad experiences through years. There were several events that were caused by some students and disheartening response from some teachers and the principal for us to decide taking my kid out of this school. My kid's belongings had been stolen by someone at school (lunch boxes, stationary, and emergency mobile phone) so she started carrying everything in her backpack at school (very heavy and we ended up buying 3 backpacks through a year because of the wear and tire. And then we got locks for her 3rd backpack because her stationery was once again stolen -she did not take it to the rest room... oh and her stationary were nothing fancy. We got them at Walmart and cheapest we can get at the time), her test sheets were thrown into trash cans from teacher's desk sometimes (sometimes her teacher find it in there and pick it up and sometimes my kid find it and pick it up to return to her tea her's desk), she was alone most of the time and classmates was calling her "demon child" because we don't go to church and she is not religious. My kid was also called thief in front of her classmates from an assistant teacher once when her friend "accidentally" put her library book in her book box. This assistant teacher did not apologize after it became clear that she had nothing to do with. After that, my kid stopped trusting teachers at all. She kept being quiet about all the things I've mentioned in the above until one day I demanded her to tell me the truth because she was acting very strange. Her teacher tried to stop all of them when we asked to find out what's happening... except "items have been missing" problems. And yet some kids kept calling her demon child and she'll go to hell even after their teacher talked about it.This school could be better if the misbehaving kids get better control and receive better moral educations at home.

Wow, I know that not all students and/or parents will be happy here because no school can have everyone like it. But I will tell you this, I absolutely love this school. Dr. D'nardo is an amazing woman/principle. She expects her children to be the best and she helps them along the way. Great job! Now as for the teachers, I haven't met one that wasn't wonderful yet! I see so much love at this school. The PTO rocks at this school. Always involved. And always doing something to show appreciation of some sort. And just to let who ever reads this review know that I am not even in the zone for this school but it is such a good school I went to the Board of Education to get permission for my daughter to attend this school. Love everything about it and

My child attends Flint Hill Elementary School, and the school staff has done a fantastic job preparing her for middle school. The teachers and administrators are kind, caring, compassionate, helpful, and dedicated to their students. While no school is perfect, the staff at Flint Hill does their very best to get close! If you are trying to make a decision about attending this or any other Newton County School, you should make an appointment with the principal to tour the school and meet the team. These type of websites often don't give the true picture of the school. We love Flint Hill! Check it out!

You are right private school is an option, which I plan on moving my child to after experiencing Flint Hill Elementary. I have experienced other public schools in GA, (Britt Elementary, which won State Customer Service Award). Just because there are budget cuts doesn't mean we have to lower our standards for public school education. Our children are individuals, what may be a great school for one child, may be not be so great for another. So parents, try not to take it personal if the next parent does not agree that your child's school is the best educational institution.

I wasn't going to post anything here but I just read a parents previous complaint. I have been to Flint Hill school functions and attending confences with my sons teachers, they are all wonderful, detailed and always have his best interest at hand. I have never had a bad experience nor my son, if anything, he comes home and raves about his teachers how wonderful they are to him. Just this weekend I was talking to him about his academics and projections in the future and excelling, he informed me that his teacher has already had this talk with the class, kudo's to her and all of the staff at Flint Hill. We moved up here from Florida over two years ago and academically the school is on a higher level than the Florida schools, they are minimumal and pass you through to the next grade to be someone elses problem. Parents have to do their part and help these teachers who are overwhelmed, overworked, dealing with budget issues and come out of pocket for classroom expenses. Private school is an option if you don't like public schools.

A wonderful school with an exceptional faculty. Students are focused on learning and bridging achievement gaps

The Administration and especially the staff of Palmerstone Elementary, is located in a small town with in a fast growing city, where they are not open to new comers or open to parent involvement in any fashion outside of the PTO or even in the class room for your childs support. I even found the teachers in this school openly discriminate to students of color. There is no way with the growing surrounding communities that this school will be able to continue the behaviors and practices now in place to support the students in society and their communities fairly. In my opinion this school should be investigated.
