I am going to be honest, this school is horrible. the only good thing there are the teachers that have been there for awhile and our library teacher. I am not even sure where to start on describing this school, but it won’t be in a good way. First of all, these kids here are overall so mean. it doesn’t matter who you are, even if you’re popular, there will ALWAYS be someone to bully you to the point where you don’t even want to go to school anymore. Second, the school has a really hard time with hiring new teachers & staff. There was one class that didn’t have a teacher for 4 months and got some bad substitutes. They were also required to do an online course website that made us glued to our screens for an hour and for some of the students they had that class for 2 hours, so just imagine that. and trust me, last year was worse. We didn’t even go to that specific class when the teacher for that class wasn’t there because the district couldn’t find any substitutes. One of our exploratory teachers left and they took the 6th grade math teacher and moved her to that job. Third, CMS is so dirty. i respect all of the janitors except for one of them, but i do believe that they can do better. A lot better. Fourth, the kids here are inappropriate, mostly the boys but there are girls too. Fifth, some of these teachers actually do not know how to teach or discipline. Sixth, don’t even get me started on our school lunch. to all of you parents, please if you have to send your kid here, though lunch is free and it may seem like a good option, PLEASE send them with a packed lunch. i have thrown up before over school lunch and it isn’t just me. bad fruit, bad milk, nasty pizza. Oh and the pizza doesn’t just come in pepperoni and cheese it comes with buffalo chicken, bbq chicken, sausage, and ham pizza. Trust me, most kids do not eat when they serve this with an already bad 2nd choice for lunch. Overall, i do NOT recommend this school to anyone. Mind you, i have not shared everything bad about this school as to its late and i’m going to sleep.

I am a current student and throughout my ongoing years here it's been getting worse and worse, the teachers don't do absolutely anything about bullying even if it's physical until it gets bad, when they do it even hear you talking about fighting a specific person youve had problems with they just make you sign a sheet of paper. The teachers fail terriblely at keeping their students in line and quiet, all of the boys In my class scream and yell and draw male genitals all over everything. And yesterday was the high school shooting tragedy and my school had a soft lockdown thanks to it, when they made the announcement the students started screaming and laughing even if it's a soft one of not. Once I was walking in the hall with other students going to class and the boy In front of me was just holding his phone, wasn't on it or anything, the principal saw and snatched it from him and asked for his name in a rude way. The administration refuses to do anything about online media being made about you from your classmates even if it's vial and disgusting. The school is disgusting too and there is liquid dripping from black spots in the gym cealling and not to mention the food and moldy spots on the bleachers, gym walls, and cafeteria walls. And the food they serve is inedible sometimes. The oranges are green, brown, and dry and stringy and for the last 4 weeks when Ive gotten milk and every single time it's been spoiled, it smelled, taisted, and looked terrible. The school is terribly racist too, last year we were all in the gym while the principal gave us a speech and she mentioned the school being majority black and all of the black kids started clapping and cheering and not to mention how many white slurs Ive been called in the past. I do NOT recommend this school for your children for you and your kids safety and well being.

Avoid at all costs. The amount of bullying without consequences that take place at this school is deplorable. My kid went from being social and confident to not wanting to attend school at all. No one cared. When he reacted to his bullies he was punished while the bullies sat back and laughed.

This school is terrible. The teachers are nice though. The administrators dont do anything, the teachers are constantly disrespected by students and higher up staff, and they dont do anything about all the bullying and fights. And there is no support for gifted.

My daughter is in her third year at Cousins. She is very bright, began quest classes in third grade, and had always been an eager student. I don’t knowIf it was Cousins necessarily that broke her, or the climate of the school in relation to the way other children act. Let’s face it, middle school years are the hardest years. But, her grades have began to sink tremendously since mid 6th grade. She says her teachers don’t do much teaching, and mostly just assign. I’m not there to verify. I HAVE had teachers reach out to me before to make me informed of missing assignments and such, so it shows they do care. We had a HORRIBLE sixth grade year as far as bullying. The administration handled it well. The bully was punished every time, and I verified this with my daughter. But it did take some effort on my part. I sent emails and made phone calls. Just my daughter telling her teacher wasn’t enough to get anything done. It starts at home, folks. Raise your kids to be respectful and caring people and it will make school better for everyone.

bad lunch food, and dont get me started on the animals in the school they had rats and roaches, spiders, etc My two kids always complain , about these teachers whom always be picking on them , the first one keeps sending me emails over and over again his name was John lee. And the counselors dont help the students especially when they're struggling especially my children. The food is uncooked and has hair, and my child came back home feeling horrible do to food poisoning . and for the most part the principle who allows the bad behavior that she lets to be tolerated they charge to much for school events and other things that students can buy and all this money they from the students AND PARENTS and they still have broken bathroom stalls and bugs, this school is terrible .

I am currently a student of cousins and they do not treat their students respect and make the kids feel like they don't deserve to live in this environment. the teachers don't put grades on infinite campus and lie about missing assignments. The kids bully each other and get away with it and most boys touch each other inappropriately and make rape jokes about the girls. I would recommend this school if you hate your kids and want them to kill themselves

Hello i am a student to this school i believe that it could change but i was wrong, this school has meany flaws and they can´t be fixed no matter what. The school is well horrible in every way i wish every morning that i wish i could stay home. I always walk on the bus wanting to know what will happen next, a threat to the school? multiple, fights! 10-20 almost every time, some students are taking advantage of this and taking control. The teachers can bearly control their students. bus drivers are okay i guess i feel safer on the bus than in the school, some teachers lash out in a screaming rage at their students for the smallest reason. i don´t recommend this school!.

After reading bad reviews about this school, I decided to send my child there anyway. I thought maybe these people are overreacting. THEY ARE NOT! Do not send your child to this school. The administration care more about protecting the bully versus the children that are being bullied. My child has sent video to me of his teachers screaming at them and yelling at the top of their lungs. This is not a conducive environment to learn, and as soon as I figure out something else I am transferring my child.

I go to cousins and it is not a good school at all. Number 1 when kids are getting bulled they do nothing about it, number 2 the searches do not let you go to the bathroom and if you can go to the bathroom there are kids vaping in there or in the classrooms, number 3 the teachers do not help you when you are lost or need help on a subject, number 4 there is too much dram there and everyone you think is your friend is really not your friend and they all turn there backs on you and you have really bad deprison because you have no friends.

I worked at Cousins for many years and am still employed by the school system. I can tell you that although we had our hurdles to overcome it is by far the best Middle School around. It is still small enough for teachers to really know their students and parents. The teachers are committed to doing whatever they need to do to make a lasting learning experience for the students! Everyone there works way beyond their contracted hours because they are dedicated to the students of CMS. I was honored to be a part of the CMS family.
