Overall great for academics, but unfortunately staff will not respect you as a student. Also, if you are seeking accommodations, it’s extremely hard to get them here. they are very unwilling to provide accommodations, and in my experience way more unwilling than other schools in Florida. There is also very little racial diversity. besides these issues, the school is very great academics-wise, very rigorous, has great teachers overall, and good opportunities. Overall, I believe that the students themselves who are raised in this zone and attend this high school have been brought up with many opportunities and many have been set up to do very well regardless of the high school they end up attending. Therefore, even with these problems regarding the school overall, many push themselves very hard, sometimes to an unhealthy point, to do well in school. Unfortunately, I do have to warn that if you plan to attend here and ask for 504 accommodations (in both my personal experience and multiple of my school mates experiences, where we specifically requested accommodations for ADHD), you must be prepared to fight for them, as they do NOT want to give them. It personally has taken me over a year and multiple accommodations meetings at this high school to get the accommodations I require, and by now, it is already so late into high school where they may not be as much use. People I personally know at this school are facing the same issues. I am happy I attended this high school, though if I could change one thing, it would definitely be the way they handle students’ accommodation requests, as I know just how uncaring, unhelpful, and unprofessional they can be.

My son was bullied and received no help or guidance from anyone at the school

This school is fine unless your child needs any kind of help. There is no one on one time available for guidance counselors. Instead they set up in the cafeteria so all of the other students there can watch someone else struggle. That creates an environment of not wanting to seek help. Trying to get someone on the phone to discuss options is nearly impossible. You would think with the amount of assistant principles and guidance councelors on their payroll it would be a lot easier. But they are way more focused on their sports activities than individual students. My child did better when we lived in low income areas than this very privileged area. I am really disappointed in this school.

Hagerty is the best high school in Florida IMO! My son has excelled at this school. The programs and academics are more than expected from a public school. Consider yourself very fortunate if your child is zoned for this school!

The school is very challenging, with many AP classes and honors classes. Highly focused on academics although I hear sports are very active. My daughter has really been pushed to do her best and yes, the homework has been heavy. All the opportunities for any student are there, but they will have to work for it. School is understanding and accommodating for 504 programs or ADHD.

I don’t really like this school, a lot of girls get pregnant and there’s a lot of fights.

This is an okay school. The students however are not the best.

Hagerty High is one of the best High Schools in Florida! It sets students up for success in University, and teaches them valuable lessons. Unfortunately, I had to move to another district so I'm a former student, and the school I'm in now does not even compare to Hagerty! My experience at this school doesn't lack anything and the only thing I regret is not putting myself out there, and joining more of the clubs. I had the BEST experience at this school, and I won't forget it!!

My daughter's grades went up from middle school to high school due to the better teachers. I also feel like there is more selection in teachers so if you do not like one, you can get another. The only thing problem with Oviedo schools is the complete focus on sports and pressure to be athletic and with a 4.0 which isn't realistic for an average kid. Overall Hagerty is always fighting against Oviedo HS to be the best in sports but for the most part, does not measure up with sports or academics but I am still happy my daughter and soon my son attending this school.

This school gives students a great learning environment. Teachers are willing to help students achieve.

I have already graduated one student from HHS, just started my second daughter's freshman year, and my son will start right behind her. Hagerty is an excellent school. Teachers and students are held to a high standard, and the academic challenges are endless. I am thrilled my children are able to attend HHS.

This school is really bad in my opinion. The staff are irritating and classes are too long because of the block schedule. Many of the teachers don't really care and there is an over emphasis on sports. Time is taken out of the school days for pointless things like pep rallies. To top it off, the custodial staff don't even seem to try the clean the school. For months the bathroom didn't have any soap or paper towels.

A beautiful school with many resources in a great community of involved parents and educators. It's location gives it a rural feel and the community has a passion for both acedemic and athletic excellence.

The staff at Hagerty is wonderful. They're always pleasant and willing to help. It's been a great school for our son, who's a senior this year.
