I love my sons teacher and the school is amazing. My son suffers from severe ADHD with a 504 and the teachers treat him fairly and work with him to help him, allowing him to have some say in how he learns. He struggled with learning and it has been a process but knowing we have people who have our back and willing to help us is huge. If I struggle at night to have him focus on homework and it doesnt get finished they will work with him in the AM. It has taken the pressure off at home so we aren't struggling here as well. He gets a reprieve and can focus on school in school and home life at home. He actually reads more now at home since he knows he won't be forced to. The pressure is taken off him, and he can relax. I'm not saying all kids are this way but for my child they made a program that works for him. We meet every 6 weeks with the teacher, psychologist and guidance counselor to make sure my son has everything he needs. Compared to friends whose kids with same disability in other districts who are fighting left and right for services, I feel extremely lucky and grateful.

This school (where Don and Sally Draper's kids went on Mad Men haha) is beautiful, nurturing, and academically challenging. Students have access to accelerated courses, math and science enrichment, and their own nature trail and garden. The administration and faculty are very involved and generous with their time. What a happy place for my kids.

School offers an advanced math class and a lot of after school classes in the spring. Our son attended a science class and learned about chemical reactions. He says all of the teachers are nice and enjoys the special classees, like art, music and computers.

"1st version" posted on the Brookside elementary school website: "Please remember that as the weather gets colder to dress your children in warmer clothing and coats! Student's have outdoor recess everyday that the temperature is above 32 degrees!" as of January 20th, 2011 "2nd version" posted on the Brookside school website: "Please remember students will have outdoor recess everyday that the temperature is above 32 degrees! Please make sure your child dresses accordingly!" patiently awaiting "3rd version" ... and just maybe THAT one will be grammatically correct ....

Brookside School is a fabulous place where children are put first! The teachers, administrators and parents work together to ensure success for the students. Aside from excellent educational programming, there is a sense of family when you walk through the doors. Brookside is definitely a place where I would want my own children to attend!

The programs are meant to encourage learning. The teachers are dedicated and care about the children. I love that they focus on being polite, prompt and prepated and that the children are rewarded for behaviors that exhibit these characteristics.
