This is an amazing school. My child began with them in Kindergarten and it has made him love school. He even still has a good relationship with his Kinder teacher, Ms Cruz. The school is small and has a good family feel which really helps emotionally. Also, unlike many schools today, they actually care about Academic Work and academic success, which is what school is about. I actually find it funny that some parents complain about the homework. Yes it is true, they give lots of homework but that is exactly what makes a great school. And it is no wonder they perform far better than the district and state in standardized tests. I understand that the majority of families and teachers in the school are Hispanic and sometimes it makes some of the other cultures feel left out in casual conversations at events. But that should not be a major problem.By the way this is not a paid review like some other reviewer thinks

The 5 star reviews here are fake or bought, they do give too much homework basically offloading the teacher's work on the parents, this is a small school and they lack resources to pay proper attention to all students. The teachers lack experience and some are unprofessional and can't handle children and be careful since the staff and teachers take everything personal and will offload their attitude on your child.High risk of your child to get bullied given the lack of proper experience of the teacher's.They don't got an auditorium nor the facilities needed to keep students on PE out of the 100 degree heat.Read the other low star reviews to confirm the reality. This school is a lawsuit away from disappearing basically.

This a an A rated school and my child has attended this school since K and the family feel you get at this school and communication with staff and students alike, they ensure to cater to your children’s social emotional needs, they keep the grounds safe and the err is a no tolerance bullying rule. I am glad to have this K-8 school in our community Proud Pinecrest Mama!!

This school only cares about good grades. The students that don’t meet the standards are left without PE class, they are given no moment of break at all, Every child need a break to breath and distress during the school day. They sent homework always Including homework packets for thanksgiving, christmas and summer. If you don’t turn in the summer packet you start the year with you first 0.Is extremely frustrating cause they are not just ruining rest for the children well deserved They also ruining the only time of vacation for us parents with this insane amount of homework. The school does not count with a counselor at the moment. Is evident that they care more about maintaining his reputation as a A school than the emotional well being of the students. In a positive note, since the school is small problems like bullying or fights are pretty uncommon and the environment feel safe. One of my child start showing anxiety do to school stress.

Our experience at this school was poor. They only celebrate children with great grades. If your child is an average student they will be left feel defeated and unsuccessful all of the time.

I have found this school to be a good choice for my child due to the teachers and other students she learns with. There have been other aspects that have caused concern over the years too. This school asks for a good deal of money during each school year but we are never to see any improvements to the school. It's still a very small building, there is no basic gym for athletics or even a good outdoor area for sports. The students are missing out on so many areas of music, arts, and sports that other schools offer. It has been disappointing for parents who want to see the school grow....Also, the aftercare program is extremely expensive without any consideration for differences in incomes among the families. 'Some' of the staff in front office are unfriendly and can make you feel you feel unwelcomed. Not a great feeling when leaving your child there all day. On a positive note, most students are great and teachers are enthusiastic! My child wants to go back each year and that's enough for us!

This school is extremely un organized and the staff is not properly trained. They cannot even handle the tantrum of a 6 yo without calling the parent to come pick up the child. On top of that my child's teacher can not even speak proper English let alone should be teaching it to anyones child. A little more experienced and caring staff would go a long way at this school.

I am an aunt to a student at this school, I usually am the person who drops off and picks up and tries to volunteer when I can. The school is amazing and should I be blessed to have children I will absolutely enroll them here! The teachers are dedicated and have a passion for their career, the staff are friendly and positive, and my nephew has grown by leaps and bounds! The school offers Parent Academy workshops to give parents some insight on how they can help make their students successful, and my sister loved the workshops her schedule allowed for. They offer free tutoring Wednesdays and Saturdays to help students struggling, which doesn't surprise me as they always go above and beyond for the kids. The school is small but well maintained, an excellent example of a tiny community/family thriving together. It is a technology charter, which my nephew loves. He is in Kindergarten and doing great, thanks to Pinecrest!

The school is a gem. I was so pleasantly surprised when i enrolled my son here. My son is thriving here thanks to wonderful, caring teachers who really understand how to challenge the kids without inundating them with tons of work. He is much less stressed now that he is at Pinecrest while learning much more. According to him, there is no bullying at this school, unlike at his last school. The small atmosphere really provides a safe and secure learning environment. The subjects have equal focus, too, rather than just a focus on math and reading. We absolutely love this school.

My children have been at this school since it opened. Sure the first year was rough, plenty of growing pains. But I don't doubt the commitment from any of the teachers or staff. Any time I've had a question about one of my students the teacher has been more then helpful and makes sure that all my questions have been answered. There has been a lot of improvements made to the school this year and I believe they are all positive. The principal really cares for the students and wants all of them to succeed. There is extra help for any of the students that need it and the teachers go out of their way to stay after school and help anyone who asks. My only concern is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of parent involvement. There are a handful of parents that come to help no matter what is going on in the school, but the other parents need to step it up and help too. I would recommend this school to anyone, I am looking forward to my children being here until they graduate. If you are interested in the school they will welcome you to take a tour of the school to see if you like it. Check it out, I think you will be very happy to put your child there.

Prior to enrolling my son in Pinecrest, he had attended two other public schools. I moved him around quite a bit in search of a school that would not only challenge him academically, but that would also teach him valuable skills. This charter school has met and exceeded my expectations. It is a small school with friendly and helpful staff members. My son's teacher is extremely organized and always ready and willing to answer questions and make suggestions when necessary. My son also has a tutor for his weak area and will soon begin tutoring for the FCAT. The attention given to the children and the constant updates provided to parents is unmatched anywhere else. The PE teacher is also wonderful and attentive. He is the "go to" person for any issues and is the one in charge of disciplinary actions from what I understand. I'll warn you that he is strict; however, he manages to win over the children's trust and respect so easily without having to intimidate them. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone.

Pinecrest Orlando is a k-8 charter school. The Administration, teachers and staff have done an outstanding job with the transition. I am a very active parent at the school; therefore, I have an insider s view of what goes on. I feel they have top quality administrators and teachers from k to 8. This school is a strict school; however, it focuses on positive reinforcement not punishment. The administration is always open to constructive feedback and respond with action. Any concerns I ve had as a parent the school has responded to in a timely fashion. I think it is the best school in the county. Parents who are unhappy are usually the ones who don't value education and don't get involved.

This is definitely a great school! They are extremely organized in every aspect. Staff is super friendly and informed. Teachers really care here, unlike many public schools. Their curriculum is by far much more advanced than general public schools. Great individual attention for your child and their education.

This school has alot to be desired. Very confusing and overloaded curriculum to the students and parents. Not very organized or easy to follow. Teachers do not update Progress Book nor are they held accountable. Leadership does not like confrontation and executes poor verbal and written communication to both parents and students. No solutions, just problems. Discourages students both in the areas of discipline and academics. Do not send your childen here.

Spectacular little school with tons of charm. The teachers are all highly qualified and extremely hard working. The new administration is very involved and very on top of the students AND parents. This school is not for you if you're not a fan of following rules. This school runs like a tight ship. I pulled my daughter out of traditional public school because it was such a mess. Pinecrest is the place for us.
