After some bad experience with school for my autistic son, I found this school and our experience is being great, this s my son third year attending this school, he has learned a lot, and he loves going there, and that tells everything to me because he is non verbal but I can't tell when he doesn't like a place or is not comfortable there. I love the teachers and the staff, the principal is great person.

Terrible. The worst part is parent pay so much money so they think they are sending their kids to a quality school, and they don’t realize their kids are sitting in a class doing nothing all day with teachers and staff that aren’t trained or certified in anything

This school is a mess, the director is not professional and the teachers are not certified. They have all the family members of the principal, teachers working at the school. The therapist are on the phone texting all the time when they suppose to be in therapy with the kids.

Academy for Autism Thank you, the staff at the Academy for Autism for providing exceptional schooling and therapies over many years for my son. I will never forget how you took him in when he lost all his skills, and helped bring him back with excellent instruction and therapies, utmost professionalism, and a huge amount of caring. Yes, this place has a HUGE heart. You are like a family to us and I feel so fortunate that my son still comes for therapy there. You have always been very open and upfront about all matters of the school. This school is very affordable and Orlando is very lucky to have Academy for Autism here in town as an option for students who aren t doing well in the public schools. Keep up the great work!!!!

The Academy is upfront about all policies at the time of detour. All questions and concerns are address before we are ask/accepted to enroll our special, precious children into the Academy. With that said; since my son began attending and receiving devoted services, care, and therapy, he has blossom, achieved numerous goals, and has began to speak. O yea, within two weeks he was potty trained, could not forget that. He has learned not only academics but also everyday life routines. All this accomplished with patience and love. So if I have to pay a donation or Tuition whatever the label is, it's well worth it. They will help prepare my son for society and yours. Yes of course other options are available and the choice is yours in the end, ours was this academy and we have no regrets.

I presume when somebody doesn t feel that the education of their child with Autism is cherished at a supplementary of $150 a month, subsequently informed after GRACE was extended for a long period of time, this is the consequences. A disgruntle parent out to tear down an extraordinary place; what a disgrace! As this parent says with some research you could discover other schools. I have researched, if you do discover a school that provides these services, I guarantee you; the asking price is a great deal additional than $150 a month. I am capable of expressing that what the Academy for Autism provides it s far-off and few schools can competition it! Outside of the staff s focal point on my son s learning, one-on-one therapy sessions, they offer transportation service; the calendar school year is longer than countless private schools. With all they propose, it s feasible for me to remain working and it s my satisfaction to compensate whatever I m capable to meet the expense of. This negligent performance deprives the services to other students. Pay your mandatory donation, it s in your parent handbook. A word of recommendation, comprehend everything before you sign a document.

The Academy For Autism is operated under the management Zulma who has devoted her life and energies to establishing a loving and caring atmosphere for children with needs. She provides a staff of the highest quality of educators, physical therapist, occupational and speech therapists who work tirelessly to help these children reach their maximum functional potential. Anyone who questions the integrity of Zulma or the Academy For Autism has their own agenda which is not based on good judgement and is more self serving in nature. If I had a child with needs, I would want that child enrolled in the Academy For Autism at whatever financial cost.

I am a parent of a special needs child who receives therapy from this school. I have seen GREAT improvement in my child in the short time that we have been receiving PT therapy and have never been able to find a place with such wonderful equipment than here that he could use during therapy. I would HIGHLY recommend the Physical Therapy Services to anyone who is in need of that service for their child. They are professional, compassionate and most of all skilled at what they do. I find it interesting that the parent who commented about the Mandatory Family Donation was upset. It is on their website and I also noticed it in their Parent Handbook (which is also on their website) very easily. It seems to be very clear that this is part of their program.

This school has lied to so many parents it isn't fair that they don't realize there are so many better options out there. They lie to you to get you in telling you there are no other choices out there and that they don't require you to pay tuition, but just ask you to donate what you can, when you can and they would appreciate all you can do. What a lie! They take the McKay scholarship and then LIE to you that they don't have tuition when they hit you with a MANDATORY DONATION. This is an attempt to hide tuition in their books and can be fraud, which I am trying to see if I can find someone to check their books as they are a non-profit and cannot claim that you are required to pay them a mandatory donation instead of tuition.

IIF IT WASN'T FOR THE SCHOOL EE WOULD BE LOST. THEY HAVE DONE WONDERS WITH MY GRANDSON. THEY ALWAYS SAY THERE IS NO CHILD THAT IS NOT TEACHABLE. MY GRANDSON CAN READ, WRITE AND WORKS THE COMPUTER BETTER THAN ME.

I never knew that they are not accredited and that my child would never receive any type of diploma. There are other schools out there that are truly FREE and don't have 'mandatory donations' (that you then will be told that it is tuition), and at those other schools your child WILL receive a special diploma or even regular diploma from the state. There are so many things that the director won't tell you. Like the date and times of the board meetings and what occurred at those meetings. The board shouldn't be made up of the employees of the school. Most non-profits have a separate board for accountability reasons, but this doesn't occur here. They are always begging for money but refuse to try and get grant money, which is the best and easiest way for them to receive funding for things the school needs. It is a shame that there are so many brainwashed parents who feel this school is their only choice, when with just a tiny bit of research there are many more better choices for their child with autism.

The School for Autism in my book is a number 1 school. The staff and teachers are so very caring and do their very best to teach these wonderful children to the best of their abilities. I would recommend this school to anyone with a child with disabilities. This is a wonderful school.

THIS SCHOOL IS AMAZING. IN ABOUT A MONTH AFTER ATTENDING THIS SCHOOL MY SON IS ABLE TO COMMUNICATE BETTER WITH OTHERS. HE HAS LEARNED HOW TO READ, ADD AND SUBTRACT. HE HAS LEARNED SO MUCH IN SUCH A SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME IN THIS SCHOOL THAT THERE IS NO OTHER WORD TO DESCRIBE HOW AMAZING THIS SCHOOL IS. I CALL ALL OF THE TEACHERS AND STAFF " MIRACLE WORKERS AND FAMILY".

I love this school. They truly care about the children, and their families as well. They go above and beyond for theses kids on a daily basis. They deserve this grant so they can get a bigger school.
