This place is disgusting. It is filled with mold. They allow vagrants to live on the property in a little trailer with at least ten children. The principal, who is solely responsible for the few good ratings this "school" has received, is in it entirely for the money he receives from the state, hence the vagrants on and around the property (depending on when they are tipped off to being served eviction papers). Do not under any circumstances send your children to this sham of a "school."

This school is an inspiration. The school operates on love and philanthropy. A not for profit, that provides opportunities to the students, the community and the multitude of volunteers. I highly recommend this private school and will gladly provide a list of reasons. Whether you have a child in need of exceptional support and training or simply want to get involved yourself, this is a great choice.

This school is a joke. The kids are do not wear masks they are not 6 feet apart. The teachers use verbal language with the kids and let the kids wander the streets. And the children are way behind in their academics. This school needs to be shut down.

Orange County Academy is a wonderful school under new administration since 2015. Much has been accomplished in the last year, and great things are expected for the 2016-2017.

School under new leadership! Focus on student success through parent, & community partnerships. Experiential learning is a key component. Each child is met where they are, and curriculum is designed to build on what they already know. ABEKA curriculum is used, which our teaching staff is very familiar with having years of experience using it. Step Up For Students and McKay scholarships are accepted for qualified students. These scholarships require the highest standards from schools - Orange County Academy included!! We had a successful audit in fall 2015 by the Florida Department of Education. I sincerely invite any one from the community to visit our school!

As a member of the administration team, & faculty I am proud of all we are accomplishing at Orange County Academy. I personally earned my B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University. I graduated with a double major: Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education, & a minor in Kindergarten. I have over 25 years classroom teaching experience in public & private school settings. I have 3 years of administration experience. I am dedicated to providing Orange County Academy with the best educational opportunities possible. I invite anyone in the Bithlo community to come visit our school, & see first hand how great Orange County Academy is. I am very proud of our students, & dedicated staff.

The new staff is a blend of experienced teachers, creative teachers, and dedicated teachers. Primarily using the ABEKA curriculum, this school optimizes learning experiences through partnerships with the University of Central Florida, Central Florida Performing Arts, Art Reach Orlando, The Society of Chemical Scientist, the UCF Mad Scientists, and more. They offer a well rounded education with a focus on Experiential Learning. The new staff is committed to the well being of each child enrolled.

The teachers care about their students. However, the building is full of mold, roaches and is filthy. Half the time the toilets do not work because the septic system can not handle the use. Mr. McKinney does not provide the needed care for students such as speech therapist or special education evaluations. He uses the school as a tool to raise money for his programs. He will break the law and state regulations an d bully people into his will.

This school is NOT a good school. Teachers let student run the school. Children are bullied and teacher do nothing about it!!! SO SAD!!!! The guy running the school is only worried about money not your child.

This is still a relatively new school, so you have to be willing to give it grace. For those of you who don't know, the school is affiliated with a non-for-profit organization known as United Global Outreach. The CEO/founder of UGO is a wonderful man with a heart for the people in Bithlo. However, I have many concerns with the school. OCA was created to provide children in the Bithlo area with a quality private education. Many of the children are considered "at risk" and unfortunately the teacher's there do not seem equipped to handle children in that capacity. The result is an awkward blend of being overly authoritative towards the children (which ends in everyone feeling frustrated) with little to no progress in academics,. There is also an endless stream of uncensored volunteers traipsing in and out of the school with little to no supervision around the children. This is very concerning, not only for the children's safety, but for the good and reputation of the school. I think with strong leadership, a unified and well trained staff, and the precautions expected of even a title 1 public school, OCA would be a fantastic school. Without those things, I would caution parents.
