This school is the worst. I had to take my daughter out because the school staff was defending my daughter's predator. A boy who is 4 times my daughter's height. He has been hurting her for two years and they do nothing. Until I get tired, my daughter says she is afraid of him and when she sees him she has to hide. Is that possible? Is it possible that one has to raise wild children who "have the need" to defend themselves when they go to a place where they are supposed to feel protected? Unacceptable. We are back to the times where the victims must leave or hide because the perpetrator is not punished.

My child does not feel safe in that school and the bullying is uncontrollable and I have witness two fights just outside the school when I walk up to pick up my little one the police officer just walks casually up to the kids who are punching each other. We are talking about CHILDREN pleaseeeee can you imagine this kids in high schools?? Am I supposed to believe that my elementary aged child is going to go to middle school here and be a part of this type of environment??

The school was okay. There were a lot of missed communications on their end and bullying went on for months with minimal efforts to prevent.

We love this school. It is truly growing to be one of the best schools in Orlando.

We moved here and bought a home because of this school and the area.

I read another review from someone who attended this school over 30 YEARS AGO w/a horrible experience, but it's a bit irresponsible to leave such a review when probably everyone down to lawn maintenance people are all different people than they had there 30 years back. I can't say if this person is just that petty, or if something traumatic actually happened, but I DO know that whatever the problem WAS, I see no evidence to support anything negative in 2017. In fact, all I can say for sure is that in my experiences so far this year w/my Grandson in Pre-K, I've seen only positive changes in him & he is EXCITED to get ready for school each morning! This is NO small feat: One dreadful "symptom" of his Autism is convincing him whenever he steps foot out the front door that he needs clothes on, but on school mornings, there are no longer any "arguments"! He's so pumped about where he knows he's going that he only wants to get it done faster, so that is one heck of a resounding "review" IMHO! I really hope his parents will allow him to attend next year as well, as I can only see BRIGHT things in his future, & THIS school is one of the major reasons why! Of course, we work w/him @ home as much as possible, but it is such a HUGE help that his school has given him a solid starting point & things to work toward so he can be PROUD of himself & learn how to work/play well w/others! I can only speak from our own experience, so if you have an Autistic child (or on the spectrum @ all) & you're looking for a school that will encourage & empower them, I would look no further. Lake Como has made ALL the difference for us!!

Our two children grew up at Lake Como and I have lived across the street from the school since 1958 and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in this world

This school is small community school where everyone is a family. Both my daughters attended Lake Como Elementary and how much they are blossom academically. Teachers are dedicated and always there when needed. This is Lake Como last year and it will be tear down for new school K-8 (2018). Will always remember Lake Como "The Comets".

I have been teaching at Lake Como for 17 years. The dedication and support of the teachers and parents is wonderful!

This is a small & older school, but the compassion, enthusiasm, & heart of the faculty and the students under the leadership of Carmen Carrasco Thompson make it well worth attending. Because of its size, the number of students there is much lower then the newer elementary schools. Thanks to this, everyone knows each other, and look out for one another, and lend each other support. I couldn't ask for a better environment for my children. They are blossoming at this school.

Lake Como has been a wonderful little school for all my "big" hopes and dreams when my son started kindergarten. I tried not to judge the book by its cover and am so thankful I gave it a chance. The teachers are dedicated, caring and expect the best from their students. The parents and students know each other and it feels like a family. We are now ready for second grade and I truly feel lucky to be part of this Lake Como community:)
